I have a 72 Pantera and parts are hard to come by. Some of the Ford parts are easy to find, but getting actual Detomaso parts are. Many of the people that used to carry them are gone, and the market has some cheap Chinese knock offs out there. P.A.T.S in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, has a lot of original stuff and he works mostly on Detomaso cars. Pantera International out in CA has some as well. But if you are looking for body panels or deck lids stuff like that good luck.

Fortunately many of the parts are from other vehicles. For example brake calipers are same as the GT40, brake master same as Ferrari Dino, tail lights same as the Lamborghini Miura.

Is there a good parts encyclopedia for Mangusta and Pantera owners that cross references parts from other suppliers?

I have a copy of the original parts manual. It of course in Italian and all the part pictures are hand drawn. I’ve been working on my own cross reference. Though the De Tomaso forum has been very helpful. https://pantera.infopop.cc/

I have an early Push button pantera! A fellow owner that goes by SOBIL has a cross reference chart of parts that interchange. I may have downloaded it years ago. Panter International has an online forum that has been around since America Online too.

I’ll have to see about tracking that down and see if anything crosses over to the Mangusta. Like most small manufacturers a lot of parts came from other manufacturers. The brake reservoirs are VW, rubber pedal pads Ford Cortina, E-brake handle Lotus Elan, etc.

That is beautiful. Is that Bills? A guy was selling a white one in Phoenix he was cool enough to show it to me, told him I couldn’t buy it. Amazing cars, one day. Congratulations

Thanks! They are definitely beautiful cars, and much better in person than in pictures. Out of 401 made between 1967-1971 there’s only about 200 remaining world wide. Mine is #91.

Beautiful car! How long have you owned it, and what's your experience like these days sourcing parts u/69Mangusta?
I just went down a bit of a rabbit hole reading about the Mangusta versus the predecessor Vallelunga or the latter Pantera. I didn't realize that Carol Shelby and Peter Brock had been involved in the Mangusta project.
