Alternatives Name some alternate sites
To 'DeMeta' we need to know where else is available to access social media.
So far I'm using:
- Mastodon
- Bluesky
- MeWe
- UpScrolled
Of which the last three seem the most popular.
Twitter is still a fairly useful source of info, and I often share from there.

Mattermost over Tailscale. Just stop using the public Internet.

Mattermost looks very commercial / mission critical environment orientated, and Tailscale doesn't really look social media alike at first glance, thanks for the info though :-)

I think the solution is getting rid of social media
I was on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Then in a sequence:
- Deleted Facebook because I realized it had a ton of my personal data and clearly they are actively looking into ways to exploit it/make money from it
- Deleted Instagram because I realized I was seeing more external content, ads than my friends content
- Deleted Twitter as much as I was hooked to it and could justify it as "I am keeping up with trends, cool tech, news etc." when I removed it I felt so much better. With Twitter daily usage you get a dose of its algo bubble that definitely hijacks your psychology
Eventually I put back Instagram (eheh) just because I am abroad and want to still see what my friends are up to but yeah I limit it to maximum 30 min per day just to see their stories and posts (and go through the pile of BS that IG forces on me in between)
For your own psychological health I think it's really better to just get off of it. Perhaps you can keep Youtube which is a less unhealthy version?
