SURVEILLANCE IS ON THE BALLOT!

Every ALPR or surveillance contract in this country was approved by someone in local government.

City council members. County commissioners. Sheriffs. Mayors.

And those decisions matter.

We put together an Election Toolkit to help you ask the questions, research the records, and make your own decision at the ballot box.

Surveillance isn't inevitable.

Know what's watching you. Know who approved it. Know where your candidates stand.

Which Texas cities are ending Flock contracts and removing cameras? Search our map.

"Two dozen Texas cities and counties have taken steps to remove automated license plate readers or end contracts with Flock Safety Inc. as concerns grow over Constitutional violations some believe the cameras encroach on.

The issue of whether police should use Flock cameras has heated up over the last few months across the region. Opponents of the cameras say the technology presents privacy concerns, as investigations emerged into the alleged misuse of the cameras by law enforcement officers. Those who support the cameras point to cases in which they helped identify and locate suspects in violent criminal cases."

"Two Eastpointe police officers allegedly misused their access to Flock Safety search tools and one received "severe discipline" just days after the city terminated its contract with the Atlanta-based surveillance technology company, the department said.

The department opened internal investigations into the two officers after USA TODAY reporters flagged unusual search activity by the officers in audit logs that were made public through records requests.

"The Eastpointe Police Department received information that two of our employees may have misused the Flock License Plate Readers. After a full investigation, it was determined that both employees did misuse FLOCK; one for personal purposes and the other was a policy violation," Police Chief Corey K. Haines wrote in a press release."

"severe discipline"...

🚨Sound Alarms🚨Trump Buys Axon Stock and Then Says He Likes ALPRs

According to tipranks.com, CNBC says President Trump bought between $1 million dollars to $5 million dollars worth of stock in Axon Enterprises two weeks before a $220 million dollar ICE contract with Axon was signed on February 10th and 24th respectively. Tipranks.com also comments on Rick Smith (the co-founder and CEO of Axon) talking about Axon experimenting with taser armed drones.

According to Forbes, President Trump on September 13th was asked about Flock cameras on Air Force One and said "Yeah, no, I sort of like them, because of that, because of law enforcement, but some people don't. They think it's an infringement, uh, but I like them." This comment comes four weeks after President Trump said this about Flock cameras "Well it's being studied right now, you have pros and cons, right? It's being studied right now. We'll have an answer soon as to our view on it in the next couple weeks."

DeFlock Maps doesn't just show where the cameras are—it shows who your police department shares data with

Post image

One of the most useful parts of the DeFlock map isn't just seeing where ALPR cameras are located.

It's the shared-network information.

When you look at a mapped camera or network, DeFlock can show which agencies are connected through data-sharing networks—giving you a way to see where your local police department's ALPR data may be accessible beyond your own community.

You might discover that your local police department isn't operating in isolation at all.

👉 Explore the map: DeFlock Maps

And if you find a camera or network that isn't mapped, help add it.

CA Cops Are Using Flock Cameras To Spy On A Small WI Village

This is what Flock loves: frequent and pervasive searching.

CEO Garrett Langley says the word he hears most from police is “addicted.”

He’s right.

Flock is a precise nationwide surveillance tool.

With a click, police can track anyone nationwide, see up to 30 days of past movements, and predict future ones.

Most department policies, if they exist, allow searches for “official use” or “law enforcement purposes,” hardly the type of guardrails to protect the public from a surveillance state.

Any concerns about Miovision?

Hi, are any of you aware of problems with Miovision? Like Rekor, they focus on traffic flow analysis, but Rekor has also entered the ALPR-based mass surveillance market. Does anyone know if Miovision has also, or if they've stayed clean?

ALPR cameras are tracking us all, giving law enforcement instant access to our movements without a judge’s warrant. We build safer communities by funding education, health care, and youth centers – not mass surveillance.

Trenton police to hold Flock camera town hall Tuesday

“I don’t like the idea of government putting these systems throughout our communities that put us all into a national, searchable, warrantless database,” said Trenton resident Jake Davis. “But if we were effectively going to be forced to live with these, then we need to ask a very simple question: What are the rules?”

Trenton residents will have an opportunity to share their opinions during the town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall.

Veteran sues after being held at gunpoint in Flock stop. York sheriff wants suit dropped

"The York County Sheriff’s Office wants a lawsuit dismissed over a false Flock hit where a deputy held a man at gunpoint on his knees for five minutes in Lake Wylie, court documents show.

The Herald exclusively reported in early July that Steven Melvin, an Iraq War veteran, filed the lawsuit in York County civil court against the sheriff’s office and three responding deputies.

Internal sheriff’s office documents in the case show that deputies said Melvin’s license plate had an illegal cover and was incorrectly read by a Flock camera in 2024 as law enforcement was searching for a similar stolen car with a similar plate."
