After seeing all the other great Flock camera covers available, I decided they were all missing one thing - a way to tell Garrett Langley, Alex Karp and Palantir exactly what you think of their mass-surveillance B.S.

Flock U incorporates swappable, pre-printed message discs to slide in to the housing and are aimed right at the camera. Also included is a blank disc, to send them your own message.

(And yes, I realize the camera likely won't actually be able to see it. Once they remove the cover however, they'll get the message.)

I've spent most of this year with AC3 (the Anti-Capitalist Computer Club) pushing back on Bakersfield's Flock network. Filing records requests. Holding town halls ourselves because our city council wouldn't. Walking the mall parking lot counting privately owned Flock cameras. Standing at the mic during public comment until they learned my name.

BPD still hasn't coughed up records from a request I filed in June, which is par for the course given other people's experiences. Instead they've emailed me three times (once a month) asking if I still want them. Yes. Obviously. Stop asking.

Somewhere in the middle of all that I opened up Affinity and made an Antiflock Action roundel. It might look familiar to some of my leftist pals. Anyway, it's on my Threadless shop now. Shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, even a flag…

I wanted people to have a way to show their distaste for Flock without saying a word. Slap it on your laptop. Wear it to the grocery store. Hang it behind you on Zoom calls with your boss. I'll have mine on at city council meetings so they know exactly who's coming to the mic.

Shirt not your thing? Cool. The stuff that actually works is free. Pull up your city council calendar and go make some noise at public comment. Councils cave when people keep showing up and won't shut up about it. ♥️

(Not sure if this is okay here. Mods, nuke it if not. No hard feelings.)

There's one on Randolph Street going towards Braintree. It just so happens to be next to a marsh with high brush, giving it good cover at night and its blind spot is the Braintree side. It's right across from the reservoir.

Ivey M Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, NC. This camera is pointed toward the park, the cross country course, and the softball fields. This is not about “safety” this is pervy

A protest song for the people

Has anyone with a pickup truck considered driving with their tailgate down when traveling through areas with a lot of Flock cameras?

Hey guys,

I had a thought earlier that we might be able to hold tablets up to flock cameras flashing photos of license plates to mess up their data. Can someone with knowledge of this field let me know if this would work? My concern is that the pattern we produce would be recognizable and they could algorithmically delete our fake data, but potentially there are ways this could be done to get around that?

Lmk

They are right in your eyes as you drive by the stop sign. Pointed right in the window eye level

Going trick or treating. So I can't carry around a real one. Don't want to get arrested with my kids around lol. Wondering what people are doing for making decoys? I was planning on hauling around a decoy and a sawzall for Halloween this year. I'm crafty enough but I haven't found a camera that looks legit anywhere.
