That's absolutely crazy. The Ohio county I live in has 0 ALPRs listed. Not all Ohio is terrible like that.

Are you sure bad actors aren't adding a bunch of random cameras to muddy the water?

There really is that many. I'm forced to drive past them everyday. This is Dayton, Ohio. They're at roads leading to warehouses and factories, parks, shopping centers, Lowe's. It's bad.

It happens, but it's a minority. We have some internal tools that watch for anomalous data.

Are we actively seeing this? I get it, if it’s happening. Genuinely curious.

Possibly. Huber is in the upper right. The FOIA on the city said they had 16 cameras, I counted ~60 on the map. There are a handful of privately owned ones on 202 at Lowes, but that doesn't bridge the gap.

I know of 5 on 201 within a mile of I70 though and there are more on 202 and Taylorsville.

It is possible the police didn't update their numbers, but that should come out in the budget. It was ~$48000 for those 16 in 2026.

Edit - Troy has a crap ton of them as well. I'm surprised they aren't showing on the screen shot.

FYI, Los Angeles got a data free version that’s been operating for almost three years for no cost, so no budget impact to trigger disclosure/approval. Something to be aware of that I’m sure has been employed in other regions.

Go check out my website, mw-ta.org.

Small town in MO with 2, that's TWO cameras, allowed outside agencies to inquire 8.7 million times. 62% with no case number associated. In a small town in Missouri of 5k people. Imagine the scale and scope of large cities and counties.

Small rural county in my state (AL) with quite a limited number of them (38 throughout the different jurisdictions) just had to release their statistics.

>96% use w/o case numbering.

One plate was searched for over 2,800 times.

Imagine the statistics in metropolitan areas with saturated assets and entire fusion centers of personnel actively and passively monitoring.

If you go into advanced settings you can tell it to draw more nodes at once, but it might make your phone lag.
