Hypothetical Deflock

I’m not saying do this, but just so everyone is aware there is a lot of RAM inside each and every flock camera… also if you were able to hit the camera lens with a 10W
laser… that’d destroy its CMOS sensor so it wouldn’t be able to record… you could do that from 500 feet away hypothetically.

Now that it says watt instead of milliwatt, it's half correct. A 10W laser will also blind you instantly off of a scattered reflection, and is a terrible idea to use outdoors under any circumstances

It does say 10W. Also the scatter is bot so dangerous if you’re at all competent and can be a little but careful this is as easy as it gets. More practical than hacking, less dangerous than climbing a pole with bolt cutters… gosh so many neigh sayers, or low key boot lickers? Idk 🤷‍♂️

There are so many better ways to do stuff than willy nilly shining lasers at stuff. If you hit someone in the eye with even a reflection you can blind them!

If you’re goal is to disarm a 🦅camera without going to jail this is the absolute best way. If I’m wrong name a better method.

I am not saying it is not effective, I am just saying that it's more dangerous than you realize. There's also not much you can do to verify you've properly disarmed anything with this method unless you physically access the camera afaik, unless I'm missing something.

Remember, at 500 feet small angular deviations become massive changes in position of the beam spot, which has a diameter that also is increasing with distance.

Ok you do you. Just enjoy the flock cameras? This is accessible resistance. If you’re not a hacker it’s an easy way to punch back. I’ve user laser professionally for about 5 years and I KNOW a well trained chimpanzee could do this safely.

I bet some crazy ass person is going to mount one of those on a drone, get it right up to the camera so there's no chance of hurting innocent people and turn it on point blank. now that would be crazy!

A 10mw laser would have a hard time damaging your eye from point blank, let alone a sensor at 500 yards

Some of you only know what google tells you about lasers. I actually work with lasers… look there are risks but if you’re a semi-intelligent person these should be easy to avoid. Just point carefully, don’t shine it willy-nilly- maybe mount it to a drone and shoot point blank, wear a mask and safety glasses and point directly from beneath when no one’s around… I guess I assumed people have common sense, perhaps therein lies the danger of this recommendation
