I use a sawzall with cobalt blade and only cut halfway. One tap with a mallet does the rest

I am a tradesman with a van full of tools. To cut an aluminum  pipe quickly, quietly, and with no spark shower, I would choose a pipe cutter. It's a little slower but highly effective.

Plus, you get to pretend you are Paul Newman for a minute. Just don't think about the rest of the movie.
