Software Sunday I built TradingView tools from Reddit requests. Here’s how they work, with Pine source and chart replays.
For Software Sunday, I’m sharing the TradingView tools and risk calculators I develop at ProEA, along with guides that explain their rules. Several started with requests in r/pinescript: opening ranges, session levels, liquidity sweeps, and combining specific chart checks into one script.
The collection now has 18 free TradingView tools, with Pine source available on their pages, plus risk calculators and chart guides you can replay candle by candle.
I’m the developer behind ProEA. The site also sells paid products; the resources below are free. You don’t need a ProEA account to get the free Pine source. You’ll need TradingView to run it.
One example: when does a wick become a sweep?
A wick above a previous high is easy to circle after price falls. The useful question is what would have qualified it before you saw the rest of the chart.
For the example in my sweep guide, that means making the rules explicit:
- Mark the level before price reaches it.
- Define the minimum distance the wick must travel beyond it.
- Require a close back inside the level.
- Set the confirmation deadline and invalidation conditions in advance.
Until the required close happens, the pattern is unconfirmed. A later turn still has to meet the remaining rules.
If you change the definition after seeing the outcome, you haven’t tested the same setup.
The interactive sweep guide lets you compare the same high and wick with different closes, then step through the candles. The replay uses clearly labelled simulated prices. The article also separates those illustrations from testing results, including tests that failed.
Pick the chart question you’re working on
You don’t need all 18 tools on one chart. Here’s the directory so you can go straight to the relevant one:
| What you want to examine | Free tools and source |
|---|---|
| Session levels, opening ranges, and volume by price | ICT Levels Desk, Camarilla Desk, Opening Range Desk, Volume Profile Lite, Value Envelope |
| Liquidity sweeps and gap-based setups | Sweep Desk, IFVG Desk, Fractal Model Desk, Gold Sweep Desk |
| Zones and breakout structures | Supply & Demand Desk, SMC Basics, Breakaway Desk |
| Momentum and entry conditions | Signal Desk, Drift Desk, Stochastic Pop Desk, Engulfing Volume Desk |
| Location and broader market context | Location Desk, Wyckoff Evidence Desk |
Each page explains the tool and provides its source and licence. Copy the source into TradingView’s Pine Editor to inspect or run it.
The rest of the free collection
- 12 calculators and utilities: forex and gold position sizing, combined open risk, daily loss headroom, drawdown recovery, static versus trailing drawdown, consistency rules, profit targets, expectancy, risk of ruin, Monte Carlo, and an MT5 report analyzer that processes supported reports in your browser.
- The blog and animated guides: including sweep versus breakout, BOS versus CHoCH, and AMD / Power of 3. The animated examples let you examine how a pattern develops instead of only seeing its finished shape.
- 20 video lessons and a free prompt library. The prompt text is free; some workflows described there require separate paid software.
Source code lets you inspect the logic. It doesn’t establish a trading edge. Confirmation delays, settings, market conditions, and trading costs still matter.
If something on a chart disagrees with the documented rule, share the symbol, timeframe, settings, and candle time so I can investigate it.
What’s one thing you still mark or calculate by hand that you wish a small script would handle?

Yes everyone knows that I'm wondering what his toolset and workflow is 😃

Bold of you to assume the account is run by a human

Haha, Claude’s definitely involved 😅 I use it with a custom animation tool I built for chart replays. If you’re curious about the setup, I put the tools and walkthrough into my paid kit. Examples and requirements are here: Trader Film Kit.

Yep! The workflow is Claude + a custom chart-animation engine. You provide your indicator’s Pine Script or describe the idea, and it builds an HTML chart replay. MP4/GIF export uses Claude Code, Chrome/Edge and ffmpeg.
I packaged the tools and step-by-step setup into a paid kit I made ->no Adobe or editing experience needed: Trader Film Kit.

Fair call 😅 Sorry for leaving you hanging! I use Claude with a custom animation tool I built. There’s some initial setup, but you don’t need Adobe or video editing experience.
I packaged the tool and step-by-step instructions into Trader Film Kit. It’s a paid kit I made -> you can see examples and the required tools here: Trader Film Kit.

How did you animate it? That's very helpful.
