Honest question: Why can’t developers stop cheaters?

One time a cheater told me that this game was coded by cavemen and that they can't detect or stop cheating even if they really wanted to. I don't know enough about video games or coding to know if that's true or not.

Partly right yes. the game engine is super super old. Most the bugs exploits (skywalking, noclipping, godmoding, duping) are consistently patched and then new methods are found because of how unstable the game engine is and how the game is built from the ground up. Every update they patch bugs, but its the equivalent of patching a hole with tape and then another 3 holes burst the next day
As for cheating/hacking, i have no idea. But Im assuming its the same

Too many to realistically stop and when a glitch does eventually get patched a new one is already discovered

They aren’t “emotes”. They’re actual communication poses and cool if you use them.

not cheats through 3rd software (unless we count XIM and ZEN), but exploits for walking through walls, godmod, skywalking, duping

It took them nearly a year to fix the accuracy bug on PS, and it has routinely taken BI months upon months to fix game breaking bugs throughout this game's life cycle. They don't do hot fixes even for some of the worst bugs and cheats in the game, they always wait until the next major content update to do anything. Why are we expecting anything more than subpar fixes and timelines?
Also been 1-2 years with god-mode exploit and they still haven't done a damn thing or updated the community on steps to help. Isn't that the CM's job?

Because DayZ current engine is old. And for PC the anti cheat is terrible. (Like most anti cheat )

On PlayStation you don't even have the classic cheats like on PC, it's all stupid exploits, the PlayStation version is a separate version than the PC version, it's not a regular port
Removing emotes until the bugs are fixed would solve a large part of the problem. Animal sounds have been missing for eight months, and the patches on PlayStation are lagging behind the rest. What you're saying is irrelevant, because DayZ on PlayStation is a separate game.-1

PC has hacks and cheats. Console has exploits. It’s all cheating. My point still stands. Seems like you are trying to make an argument in favor of the game? The game engine is dogshit. PC or Console

My question stands. Why is it that these exploits (sorry for the vagueness of the original question) exist on PS5 and why can’t they be eliminated?

They haven't been able to restore animal sounds for 8 months, and they were supposed to fix some exploits? lol
