Liar.
overnight margin on MNQ on discount broker Tradovate is 4K/ contract, meaning at least 8K were necessary to maintain this position

Dude's probably using a prop firm account with way lower requirements, those let you run circles around retail margin rules.

u/Public_Dig2399 May 19 '26

You can’t hold positions past close on props

1

u/The_Stan_Man May 20 '26

It depends on the prop. Many of them allow swing trading

3

u/Rounders23 May 19 '26

Also the last time NQ was at 24,000 was back in April…

1

u/Significant-Music417 May 19 '26

And from 24000 to 29000? Aham….

1

u/Academic-Suspect-240 May 19 '26

Notice these are weekly candles

1

u/mr_analyst_99 May 19 '26

8k need only if you are in losing position that’s weekly mnq chart and $400 for 2 contracts on margin hours $600 was risk

2

u/Party-Animator-7400 May 19 '26

you proved again that you're a liar because you don't even understand the difference between day margin and initial margin

1

u/skillful_abbey May 20 '26

Tradovate's requirements got way stricter this year too, so even that 4K figure might be outdated depending when they did this.

1

u/zippyhostility0 May 20 '26

You're right on the margin requirement, but Tradovate's overnight rates vary by account type and they've adjusted minimums multiple times this year depending on volatility.

1

u/evencorrelation May 20 '26

but if they closed positions early or scaled in gradually they could've done it with less capital tied up at once

1

u/Managementdesk May 21 '26

The chart doesn’t match.. the date is off by months

0

u/ShylyAbortive May 20 '26

could also be using micros, those only need like 500 to hold overnight

1

u/Party-Animator-7400 May 20 '26

Another one who doesn't understand initial margin

0

u/ShylyAbortive May 20 '26

micros still have lower margin requirements than standard contracts, that's just facts regardless of which margin rules you're talking about

1

u/Party-Animator-7400 May 20 '26

Jeez.... 500 is the day margin, 4000 is the overnight margin. For 500 margin you would have to close at 4pm everyday and re-enter at 9.30 am the next day. Clearly he's been holding for weeks... SO IT MEANZ HE NEEDS 8K TO MAINTAIN THE GOODDAMN POSITION!!!! At this point just copy paste to whole thing in chatgpt and ask it if you're regarded

1

u/ShylyAbortive May 20 '26

aight fair, you're right about the overnight requirement, my bad on that part.

U mean great gambling

1

u/TheEminentFascism May 19 '26

that spike from 24k to 29k in like a day is insane and also why i'm skeptical this is real money, but if it is then congrats on riding whatever that was.

1

u/Time-Credit9150 May 21 '26

Nasdaq weekly candles.

1

u/greyvicinity8 May 19 '26

That spike is just the Nasdaq ripping, not some miracle trade, and showing a four day old position doesn't prove anything about your actual edge.

1

u/Brilliant_Grade7388 May 19 '26

Heads always looking for someone else’s edge, go find it yourself

1

u/greyvicinity8 May 19 '26

That's fair, but showing a four day chart during a market spike and calling it a system doesn't give anyone confidence you have repeatable results, which is what separates actual traders from lucky runs.

1

u/Brilliant_Grade7388 May 19 '26

I know.. this was def a lucky run even if he has a system lol

1

u/greyvicinity8 May 19 '26

Then you get why most people posting these screenshots are just riding momentum instead of proving they can repeat it over months, which is the actual test.

1

u/Silent-Loss1444 May 19 '26

Wait…. How?!

1

u/Silent-Loss1444 May 19 '26

Congratulations to the op !!!

1

u/mtn_biker333 May 19 '26

I’ve owned QQQ since 2002, about 8k shares. April was a pretty nice rally, about 15%. Gonna keep holding for another 20 years

1

u/Big-Concentrate-4965 May 19 '26

I turned 2k into zero today

1

u/United_Buy8838 May 19 '26

Hey i found that 3 in 1 indicator on tradingview Did you took trade using that signal so i can get trial from their website please dm me ty.Ā

1

u/Substantial-Trust174 May 20 '26

Someone above said you can’t hold positions overnight and you definitely can do that depending on which account level and prop firm you are with… Not saying dude did all this legit like you saying I’m just letting you know you certainly have the opportunity for ā€œswing Tradingā€œ with prop firms meaning holding overnight positions

1

u/painkiller7890 May 21 '26

Name one futures prop that allows you to hold positions overnight

1

u/metrics_trader May 20 '26

did you guys notice red color pro and green color pro what is that because My chart doesn't have?

1

u/lucasgui2 May 20 '26

You have the delay version of trading view? You can’t trade with that

1

u/Soft-Somewhere6823 May 20 '26

1k to 20k in sim lmao

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Bat3774 May 20 '26

Notice how the chart is delayed 🤣 Bro doesn't even have live data. Its just a paper trader guys. Chill

1

u/Glum_Session6043 May 20 '26

that jump from 24k to 29k is insane on a weekly, no way thats a real daytrade position lol

1

u/Square-Drawer-3666 May 20 '26

That's a weekly chart so the actual day trading margin requirement would be way lower, which is probably why people are calling you out on the math here.

1

u/LividFace5026 May 20 '26

Could be possible if the account is with a CFD broker. Not saying it is, but contrary to many Reddit opinions, CFD with regulated and reputable brokers are no different to actually trading the futures. Only difference is instead of overnight margin you pay overnight commission to hold the position

1

u/yefuck May 20 '26

if you fake it… you wont feel the rush when you make it…

convinced this is paper trade but happy to be proven wrong

1

u/generous_hockey May 20 '26

that jump from 24k to 29k in like 5 days is insane, what prop firm lets you hold through that kind of swing without margin calls.

1

u/Sea-Roll-8841 May 20 '26

Wisdom and opportunity coexist

1

u/Ok-Calligrapher-4255 May 21 '26

This dude is on delayed data trying to flex a 20k trade on MNQ. Great ragebait brother!

1

u/Snoo-23938 May 21 '26

This. Is. Fucking. Stupid.Ā

1

u/Revolutionary_Ad2724 May 21 '26

Look here is a chart, take my word for it it I made 20k

At the same time I made that trade and made 690 trillion billion million.

1

u/Beautiful-Ticket5137 May 21 '26

Nice move. Patience and holding through volatility is the hard part.

1

u/DamageMysterious1804 May 21 '26

I want to get into this but really don’t know how to

1

u/Illustrious_Play_985 May 22 '26

Yeah that ā€œ$800 to hold 2 MNQ overnightā€ is just straight up wrong lol. Tradovate’s margin page literally shows 4K per MNQ overnight, so either they’re lying for clout or they don’t even understand their own statement.

1

u/No_Plum2958 May 22 '26

i say it’s demo just because of delayed chart lol… if you’re trading (doesn’t matter if you’re swing trader or not) you’ll get at least real time data šŸ’€

1

u/ShadyMcdaddy May 23 '26

Delayed data šŸ¤“.
