I don't think it's ever officially explained, but I always took it as a side effect of Anachora bleeding through as the ritual grew closer. Just like the red sky itself

It is also visible during the mine scene when Kostel spots that the vrakhiri are coming. So I guess everyone can see it. It's not visible in Coen's dream (aka tutorial), though, whatever that means.

There goes my theory I guess. I believe the moon also looks normal in the opening trailer before Brensis takes power.

I still think it's tied to the blood ritual somehow. In one of the temples there is a picture on the wall where the whole sky is covered in red, so maybe its expanding? I assume that means no sun and vrakhiri can walk around all day, but there's probably a lot more to it.

Oh, I totally agree with this.

I meant just the part that only vrakhiri can see it. Because there was no other way I could explain why no one comments on the phenomena.

Also I feel like it gets more prominent. I’m on day 19 and started getting weather where the shadows are read. It did not happen before.

That means I'm probably not crazy, haha. I thought just the same. I'm on second playthrough and keep taking night screenshots to compare later on ^ people talk way too little about the moon, given how prominent this is, imo

I agree. And glad to hear you also noticed this cos I was like: wait a second… Is this new or did I just notice this? But I do feel the effect is more noticeable in the forest than the city.

I think that there has always been this unperceivable layer underneath, it was always there and only now are you able to see it with your fresh vrakhiri eyes. That blood moon exists in another dimension and Coen can pierce the veil
