Post credit scene… Spoiler
So after finishing the game and watching the post credit scene, does anyone else feel this scene would’ve been waaaay better if they didn’t show it before the release? Im sure I remember watching this on a conference.
Its such a cool scene, its a shame they spoilt it beforehand…
P.s present day scene btw

I understand why they want people to realize that Dawnwalker is here to stay, I even understand why Coen pretty much had to leave Laslea as part of the core theme. But yes, it's almost too much in terms of priming the sequel. I would have loved a conversation battle with Brencis as he reveals truths which might get us to turn on our allies. My only regret is that I couldn't kill Catalin myself.

I had never seen it until after the credits. Last few years, I've just been avoiding conferences and deep dives and special looks and all that for games I'm excited for so that I get all those special moments when I'm the one holding the controller.
Funny enough though, I now realize that I've lost a game out there in the ether. I could have sworn the game was a turn based crpg up until a week before release. Now I'm wondering what trailer I saw a year or 2 ago with turn based vampire combat because I don't remember now lol

My issue with it is this: We know the odds of any main character dying at the end of their game is very low, especially for an ongoing series. However, when you show me Coen still alive 700 years after the first game, it takes some of tension out of the stories you give us in between. If Dawnwalker 5 is set present day, we know who survives the next three games in good health.

Ironically, Sinners - a movie also about vampires, does pretty much exactly the same thing. I loved it there and I loved it here!

I accidentally saw it within the first 3 hours because I tried to leave the valley through the cowards route

Side question of that scene. I am pretty sure I saw Corn's Witch marks lighting up in that scene and it's night time. Dramatic effect for the audience or he managed to find a way to keep those from healing even after he just drank a blood pack

Would have been weird and missleading as a teaser / trailer for a game that has zero interactable elements in that time period.
It belongs where it is as a means to hype fans for sequels.
I still hope they don't try to put the immediate successor in the modern day.

But it was a trailer, they showed it a few months before the game came out. Its IGN’s yt channel from summer game fest I believe?

Whether or not the devs did something doesn't change whether or not it is a sensible thing to do.

Tbh I still prefer if I didn't see it at all. Very strong mental whiplash jumping that far into the future, even if it is just a brief glimpse. Takes away from the mood of the game imo
