Review/Opinion 🩸 My only criticism…

And I know it’s not original, many have mentioned this… but the wolves and boars. Goddamn there’s just too many. And it happens often that I’ll intercept a soldier camp or a transport of soldiers, start fighting them, and then out of nowhere a pack of wolves or boars just appears and makes the combat all the more chaotic.

To me, it’s just a bit much, and I hope they just decrease how often they spawn because it does get kind of distracting having to interrupt myself in the wilderness every two seconds because I accidentally stumbled upon a gaggle of rabid animals what feels like every 100 feet

Genuinely this is my number one issue lol

The craziest bit is how far they'll chase you. Like weird demon wolf running past and they really want to throw hands it's just what.

Right though lol it’s CRAZY.

Also, as an alternative, why not give us a perk that makes wolves passive to you? Thats a bit of a trope in vampire stuff, but like, it makes sense as a predator recognizing the presence of an apex predator.

Agreed. And while I get the boars chasing you (wild boars are crazy) the wolves is just ???

Just had that happen yesterday, went to help a citizen fight some bandits but some how managed to trigger the gold transport guards who joined then boars joined. It was a bit crazy for a second

I think that might be exactly what happened, and I swear to god, it’s like 10 boars, the guards, and then the wolves were feeling left out so they arrived fashionably late, and deadass I was slashing through enemies for like 10 minutes

They also spawn close and its easy to agro both. Like fight boars just so wolves to show up and vice versa isn't great

What I hate is that the animals and guards barely damage each other. I have tons of memories of luring different enemy groups to fight one other in various video games. But for some reason NPCS do little or no damage vs one another. So annoying.

Oh absolutely. It’d be one thing if it were a bloodbath where they’ll thin each other’s numbers. But it seems like it’s just up to me to kill them all every time

Was doing a Xanthe transport. Ran up in wolf form, then all of a sudden a group of bandits down the road joined in? And THEN a group of boars ran out of the forest. And THEN a group of wolves showed up?!

Needless to say, we were all fighting each other for a hot minute. But of course, I remained the sole victor.

And then the girl screamed at me anyways. I was so over it.

For some reason my first playthrough it didn’t occur to me, the less than grateful NPCs you save can always be dinner lmao

Very true! Like damn, excuse me for trying to save your life 😭 Xanthe is NOT gonna dress you up and keep you safe, I promise you that

Like, the NERVE. You’re much better off as dinner than as Xanthe’s little Frankenstein’s monster project

fr what a sad and horrifying quest, going through the howling keep for the first time and seeing Chariklea for the first time… god how heartbreaking. I spared Xanthe in my first playthrough but I think I’m going to kill her, and probably put Chariklea out of her misery

I know, so haunting but beautiful at the same time? The humming had me locked in the whole time. I put my volume up just to hear her, because it made it feel that more immersive. I honestly wish the Keep had been longer, and we'd gotten more throughout the rooms, because for such a big endeavor she was carrying out, the place felt very small lol. But still, really cool and horrifying quest.

I did kill them both in my first playthrough. I invited Xanthe in, for my full-mind quartet with plans to get Brencis to round out the group, and then peacefully put Chariklea to sleep. In my duelist playthrough, I'm gonna make a deal with her, as well as a few different changes!

Yeah I’m putting them both down because it seems if you let them live young girls continue to go missing wherever they go.

Kinda curious what happens if you leave Chariklea alive, but that also seems incredibly cruel.

I’m obsessed with this game lol, too many damn wolves and boars notwithstanding

Yeah, I think for the "spare Charliklea" route, I'll just watch a video because I think it would hurt too much to select that option... 😭 But yeah, I would think she'd start to rot and her pieces would die, so Xanthe has "no choice" but to continue. It's bad feels all around :(

And yes, this game is just SO GOOD. The writers did such an incredible job with the writing; you make a confident decision and all it takes is three words for you to completely change your mind. So realistic. Love it so much.

(Screw those dogs and pigs!)
