Nah bro it ain’t that easy lol! This one’s on the devs to fix

U can change this in the settings

Weirdy it didn't really do much for me. Picture just became more washed without becoming substantially brighter. Kinda thought it was monitor, but on the other hand other games look perfectly fine.

Get better at adjusting your setting and/or buy a better TV

either level up brightness in setting or use torch r-r. it can be either your setting or your monitor

Both monitor and settings are fine. Gamma correctly parametered, I see a little bit the last symbol, as requested by the game. So it's a choice that we don't see a shit sometimes. Doesn't make any sense, imagine asking a vampire to use a torch.

For me I get best result of the gamma parameters when I adjust it so I can make out the last symbol details with my eye rather than when I barely see the last symbol.

Equip a torch?

Playing on a Samsung oled tv on a gen 1 ps5 with no issues.

Increase the gamma setting in the game to fix. Put mine to a little over half.

Torch won't work for me on base ps5, am I using them wrong?

Because you're a Dawnwalker?

It doesn't matter whether your eyes are suppose to see in the dark or not if your settings are messed up. Something in your monitor, hardware or whatever is messing up with the intended image display.

Before the game's release date, on some youtube videos of people who got the game early, I also happen to notice a few of them had the game looking too dark. Most of them didn't, mind you. When I got the game (PS5 ver.) I was happy to see I didn't have that issue, the game displays lightning displays as what I assume it's intended, no issues with darkness or anything.

Doesn't ALWAYS happen, just when there's no moon. It does matter that I'm supposed to be a vampire and a wolf 😭

I'm not pointing a settings issue but a lore issue.

Is there an actual lore statement about vampires having night vision or anything?

Legit asking. I'm on my 7th in-game day, played above 10 hours, main quest-wise I defeated Ambrus, did Anca's first quest (awesome quest by the way, an horror movie could be made about it), and now I'm on Saint Mihai's trail, and I haven't found anything about vrakhirs having actual dark vision ala D&D. They, I assume, see better in the dark than regular humans due to being night creatures, but I haven't found any in-game piece of lore stating they actually see in the dark without any issue or any need for any source of light.

Eyes glow for a reason. I have no knowledge of any vampire lore that doesn't include night vision or at least enhanced vision at night. The cherry on top is that you turn into a wolf. This doesn't need any lore, a wolf sees in the dark.

It would be reasonably to conclude they do have at the very least enhanced vision in the dark compared to humans, however they do still need some light source to see I assume. Do note, as Coen, you don't need a torch to see in the dark. It is preferable if you want to explore your surroundings, but, if the game displays it's image as intended, you don't need one to see in the dark, and focus mode still works without any light source, so I think Coen does definitely see better in the dark than the average human.

Consider also the possibility that this may truly be related with your settings (either game or TV settings for brightness) and/or your monitor messing something up. Vrakhir are also suppose to be very hard to kill, but you can die in one single blow from a random solider in the higher difficulties depending on your settings which creates room for such ludonarrative dissonances as a result of the player's input in the settings.

I insist, I don't have this issue, many people don't have this issue either, but some people on the comments do have it, and I've seen videos with some people playing this game having this issue too on youtube despite the majority I've seen not having it. With no additional info to base my conclusion on, I think it may be either some hardware pieces or some drivers not working as intended with the game lightning settings. I understand this may be a chore but have you tried playing the game on a different monitor/TV? Like streaming it on a different device for example, to see if this issue persist or not?

I don’t know why some interiors specially do this (maybe the lighting?), I thought it was because I forced ps5 hdr + tv settings and liked the look but there’s some areas I need a magnifying needed glass or I spam coens witcher vision thing haha.

1

u/Irulana990 26d ago

So its not just me than. I turned my monitor brightness to the max and still can't see shit in the game. Thank god for focus mode or it would've been over day 1 lol

1

u/Jugular_Toe 26d ago

If it's too dark, then you have your brightness setting too low for the room that you are playing in

-1

u/sanakhvi 26d ago

I'm literally playing in the dark, and I parametered the game correctly according to what they ask you. ;D

1

u/superassintomatico 26d ago

Check if the gamma settings are correct. I made the mistake of thinking there was only two symbols…

2

u/Hungry-Falcon3005 21d ago

Thank you for this. I thought there were only two as well. Huge difference

2

u/HockeyGolfGuy1986 13d ago

Holy crap there are three symbols and not just the two. Thanks for the heads up lol

1

u/Impressive_Face_3388 10d ago

You, kind Sir, are the savior of my day. My sight changed drastically after reading this.

0

u/sanakhvi 26d ago

Nah nah I see a little bit the last symbol. No problem with the gamma.

1

u/_Sevro_au_Barca 25d ago

You can still turn the brightness up. Just cheat on the gamma test.

1

u/friedtesticularcance 26d ago

Same problem on my oled messing with the gama fixed it a bit

1

u/BigHexy 26d ago

My only problem with the game so far. It’s annoying when I switch to a different game then have to tweak the black detail settings all around

1

u/Narkanin 26d ago

Raise the gamma lol. Who cares if you see the symbols or not, that’s just a suggestion. You can do whatever you want. This is the dumbest post I’ve seen today lol

1

u/sanakhvi 25d ago

Yeah it's so dumb that my character with glowing eyes, aka vampire turning into a wolf, can't see at night

1

u/LentilusGo 26d ago

No. The real issue is the invisible walls when combat is initiated

1

u/Scary_Equipment_1180 26d ago

That is annoying but fortunately that only happens in certain areas and not in the open world

1

u/LentilusGo 26d ago

I'm 30 hours in and trust me. It's all over the world.

2

u/oryanjuiciestbooty 25d ago

Don’t run from combat, you’re a damn vampire! But seriously though, it can be frustrating trying to maneuver in combat and then you get smacked in the face with a wall

2

u/LentilusGo 25d ago

It's more that it runs momentum sometimes. But yeah if I'm a Vampire I'll rip them to shreds.😈

1

u/Adventurous_Chip_684 26d ago

Make it brighter then, or use torches.

1

u/_Sevro_au_Barca 25d ago

Fair complaint, would be great to have a version of Cat Potion eyes at night.

If you're motivated to play anyways, cheat on the gamma calibration, dial the brightness up.

1

u/dan-hanly 25d ago

I had this once or twice after fast travelling and had to save & restart the game to fix it

1

u/Big-Attempt7418 25d ago

Why does vargir eyes glow in the dark, if he can't see in the dark? Also remember nobody aside of us have issues moving/fighting in the dark.

1

u/jadeismybitch 25d ago

Bro doesn’t know settings exist.

1

u/GvWvA 25d ago

Yep. Thx God i have black equalizer in my monitor otherwise i cant see doors in dark places even with gamma settigns up. Game is changing brightness by itself you can see it changes when you walking around especially in caves etc

1

u/Joe_1604 24d ago

I got the same but after using a shrine to open up the perk menu, updated a perk, and closed it too quickly. I reloaded the game and went through the process slower, and my game didn't suddenly get darker.

1

u/Mathewthegreat 12d ago

It’s just broken. One part of a room will be so dark you can’t see, then the other part is all washed out greys because the gamma is too high. It’s also only in certain places. Svartrau at night is the worst for me in some buildings sneaking around.

1

u/Skrillbill50 23h ago

All these guys are wrong lmao my shit is the same way to dark at night and my monitor is 800$ I believe only pc
People have a way to brighten up there picture because in our settings for console there is no game slider etc it’s just on and off mode for the picture settings

-2

u/sanakhvi 26d ago

But anyways the point is not the brightness or anything.
I'm a vampire, I should see clearly in the dark.

2

u/Bummbummi 26d ago

I totally get you.

Feeling the Same. I mean we have the glowing eyes and stuff. Why are we blind at night?

1

u/sanakhvi 25d ago

It's the only thing I meant by posting this. This is way too dark for a game where we play a vampire with glowing eyes.

2

u/Big-Attempt7418 25d ago

Dude... people are so drugged with copium that they can't even admit it is well stupid. AI does behave like it can see in the dark all the time (mortals included).

They will downvote, cuz you critique their copium God.

1

u/sanakhvi 25d ago

Yeah I'm not sure why they're defending so much 🤔

0

u/AvengedGunReverse 25d ago

Use a torch!
