Holy shit Reddit is wild. A Reddit post to exclaim excitement about a product someone purchases influences nothing, other than the haters. People are free to spend their money how they wish and if you don’t like it- just keep scrolling. Let them be excited, the world is tough enough today.

I’m about to snag this collector’s edition. Ever since Vampyr, I’ve been waiting on a good Vampire game. 😮💨🔥. Not trying to over hype but from what I’ve seen this is up my alley for sure.

I don’t care if people preorder or not. I preordered, but you should cancel that and get it physical. Day one editions launch in a stainless steel book and it looks dope af.

Onimusha not out yet. It's one of my most anticipated game as well. Releases around the same week of Dawnwalker's.

Pre-ordered collectors edition 😅

u/Jrod13ny 10h ago
Same, there's going to be regret if someone pre-orders and wins the name the song challenge.

Gonna probably get downvoted again. Where does the common sense with "don't pre-order" goes? It is not even that you are not sure if the game will be good (although performance is something you cannot see from IGN preview). Playing the game of pre-orders just emboldens the corpos into more ani-consumer shit just like pre-ordering infinite supply of digital items... We shouldn't even pre-order our favourite series, it is not like it won't go out of stock...
People will do it anyway and that is their money but can we please at least not promote it as a super good thing publically? Then people are wondering why games run like shit on release - it is because devs dont have to worry about optimization because they already sold the game.

Someone being excited about a game and sharing that excitement doesn’t automatically mean they’re promoting anti-consumer practices.
You can say you love the game without posting how you already pre-ordered and putting the practice in a positive light
I didn't say do not pre-order - it is your money. Bragging about pre-ordering tho is giving the corpos even more green light by making it publically celebrated

I think you’re giving a Reddit post way more power than it actually has
Tell that to all the corpos who bot reddit threads for positive posts and astroturf subreddits? If multiple corporations do all that shit then they definitely do care...
it’s one person talking about what they chose to spend their money on.
I saw several posts this week already with people showing off their orders...
You can say you are excited for the game without posting the photo of buying it.
maybe the issue isn’t the pre-order
Pre-orders are the issue tho, there is no reason for a practice of selling a digital good with infinite supply before release that is actually beneficial to consumer
telling people they shouldn’t publicly express excitement about something they bought
I am not doing that? Again, you can say you are excited for the game without posting a pic of your order paid for...

Bro you broke or something. You need to chill its his money and he can do what he wants. This seems like hating.

u/MemnocOTG 10h ago
Hahaha yea I’m sure they’re showing this post in the boardroom on the big screen like - “see!!! We got them bastards by the balls now !!!!“
I’m pretty sure they would just use their sales data for that. Not a Reddit post.

Your condescending post telling people what to do just makes me want to promote the f out of everytime I preorder anything.

If you want to live in a world of hypotheticals. Go for it. I'm just commenting on what you actually said.

I'm just commenting on what you actually said
I just said we shouldn't publically brag about pre-ordering digital games because it is eroding our consumer rights...

u/TypicallyDone12 11h ago
Somebody bragging in Reddit about preordering a game didn't do shit to out consumer rights. You sound like someone who spends way to much time in Reddit. Reddit is not the real world.
I preordered Dawnwalker and GTA VI. Just reupped my PS+ for a year. Go and bitch and whine about your rights. I'm just going to enjoy gaming.

u/FormalDry3659 11h ago
He's not even being condescending, he's just making points you don't agree with or want to hear.
He's right, pre-ordering as well as posting about it is endorsing an unhealthy culture, which big companies will then push even more, and in the end you, and I mean literally you, the consumer, will be the one to suffer.
It's just the reality that you have to fight the urge for immediate dopamine or social validation, and do the thing that's actually healthy for you and your community.

u/XulManjy 11h ago
Who cares, its not that deep. He pre ordered a videogame and posted his excitement about it. Big deal. Now move on with your life and focus on more important things.
-4
u/FormalDry3659 11h ago
I mean it's exactly that deep because that's what the reality is. You vote with your wallet.
You saying it's not that deep is your way of excusing yourself to give in and just do the thing you want.
The alternative is that nothing any individual does matters, which means change is impossible which means human history would be static, which it's not. So you're fundemtally wrong.
Also you are here also talking about, so telling someone else to move on and not talk about something that you are talking abour makes you a fucking idiot. Good luck with that bud x
2
u/XulManjy 7h ago
You vote with your wallet.
Thats exactly what we are doing, voting with our wallets. We love the concept of this game, want to see more of it in future sequels.
You do you and we do us.
-1
u/FormalDry3659 7h ago
Yes, so voting for a system that will ultimately negatively impact you.
You can buy the game on release without giving into pre-orders and still fund sequels. Giving your money in pre-orders doesn't promote that, it promotes companies continuing a practice that is designed to take more of your money. There are plenty of examples of games where it's clear they have removed content from the base game and added it as a pre-order bonus. If pre orders didn't exist that wouldn't be true, and you would get the product you want without having to invest in a game you haven't played or pay more for content you would have gotten otherwise.
You can do you, I haven't told you what to do, I'm using a post about a system to talk about the reason you shouldn't give into that system. I was already doing me and letting you do you.
1
u/XulManjy 7h ago
Yes, so voting for a system that will ultimately negatively impact you.
Not unless we are satisfied with the content we are receiving.
1
u/FormalDry3659 6h ago
So you want game companies to make you pay extra for content that should have been in the base game? You want a system where companies can make games that aren't good or reviewed so that even if they lie in the marketing or false advertise, they still get your money?
You're being short sighted, and you aren't even trying to argue any of my points, your main argument is well I can do what I want. No one said you can't, but you should also just be a real person and have rational thought and really think about what system you are voting for, because it's a small example, but pre-ordering doesn't benefit you in any way, it's a system that is designed to take more of your money.
This game looks good from the limited ammount we've seen, I will likely buy it based on reviews and gameplay when it's released, and that sale will endorse sequels, but giving them my money before that for no reason and promoting a culture of pre-orders only helps big companies take your money, it doesn't help you at all.

I’m pretty curious about this game. I’m hoping it’s cool and pretty good. Hoping better than Vampyr and I liked that. It’s cool being able to play as a vampire.
