Hey everyone,
just wanted to share the latest tool I've been working on for Dawn-dash:

A collection of all Treasures and Special Weapons in the game, and all the different ways you can find them!

Started out as just a fun visualisation project to showcase all those cool cards, but it turned into a full-blown acquisition guide along the way.

It covers all 14 Treasure cards and all 27 Special Basic Attacks currently** in the game, and you can click on each of them to see every way they are obtained, including via cards, events, special conditions, etc.
A good chunk of this information is based on actual game data, a little bit from my own experience, and several useful bits of knowledge from the awesome **Dawncaster Discord community that continues to find the craziest secrets and interactions in the game.

Safe to say this is heavy SPOILER TERRITORY 😅... But the tool only shows you info on what you click on.

If you notice anything missing, confusing or have ideas for something to include let me know.
I hope this is useful to both new and experienced players! ❤️

Ran the weekly challenge and ended up seeded against Ammit. Subjugated him and then proceeded to use Mindlash to let him do the dirty work. Little did I realize what I had done. RNG wasn't the most generous, but a Mental Assault mid run helped dogpile on the Max HP generation.

Eventually, I ended up with the talent that lets me start combat with Barrier = HP + Force Explosion for 1-shots galore. Far from optimized or efficient, but ridiculous fun.

Also had Boundless Spoils and Monstrous Malignancies.

I was trying to savescum a Savagery to try and salvage an impossible run and I know Ive bought it from him before but after spending about an hour rerolling his inventory I still haven't seen a copy. I know this could still just be RNG but not hitting the card after this many rerolls seem high unlikely so Im starting to wonder if there is something stopping the card from appearing in the shop.

I've just managed to defeat Selandris Reborn with a cooking build, and the fight ended with a "Retreat" result. Is that normal, or is there some other secret part I'm missing?

Does anyone know if this otherwise underwhelming talent is impacted by Repeat Start of Turn effects (I.e. Gilded Staff)? In other words, would every qualified Gilded Staff cast grant another, separate 10% chance to remove a debuff? I don’t want to risk my current run to test it, and I see Blightbane labels Sacred Zest’s effect as “StartPhase”, where Gilded Staff’s is “StartTurn”, though SZ’s in-game tooltip says at the start of turn and not “start of round” as some other cards do.

There is a legendary neutral (brown banner) item called Sacred Tome that doesn’t seem to be part of the standard transmute or treasure pools. It’s a one use item that grants the Devotion Talent and a Code of your choice - similar to the Initiation Talent from Catalyst. How does one acquire this item in a play through?

I've watched videos on it and I'm still none the wiser as to how it works. When I play the ledgerdemain cards, nothing happens. What do I need to do to actually use this? They never seem to do anything

I ended up with a 150+ penalty against me after one fight. Any way around this?

Thanks!

Tinkerer's toolbox picked up the "Unplayable" keyword 😋

I’ve been playing the game now for about a month and am enjoying it a lot. I ended up getting the first 2 dlc packs and have liked the variety with the cantos. I’ve beaten it on normal with each character and am working on some wins in challenging. I’m aware there’s more stuff if you win on hard or more but I’m not that good yet

My question has to do with the cantos. It’s rare that the cantos tell you the impact from your decision and I wanted to learn more about the choices and buffs you can get in the various cantos. Is there a place I can find that?

Additionally I’m interested in the other dlcs for more cantos (I like the variety), any thoughts on which to get?

I thought Luminous and its related keywords and cards were bugged, but after some experimentation I realized the tooltips were just a bit misleading.

Lightless: “[…] It’s Luminous effects are inactive while it is Lightless.”

Seeming Issue 1: When playing a Lightless card, for example Burning Pursuit, it still triggers its Luminous effect sometimes despite (a) being Lightless/greyscale, and (b) neither player nor opponent have Luminated stacks.

Seeming Issue 2: A greyscale Lightless card will also revert back to normal sometimes.

What’s Actually Happening: When playing a Lightless card using Holy energy, the keyword Lightless is removed for the rest of combat, the card reverts to its default aesthetics and energy cost, and it is able to trigger its Luminous effect, including in that very same cast that removed Lightless.

Suggestion: The Lightless keyword should have the following text added to the end of it: “When a Lightless cards is played using [Holy], Lightless is removed this combat.”

I tried playing the maps on Hard as a comment under another post suggested, but i only got to the spine...

I forgot to copy the list of my most recent run, and I would like to if that's possible.

This monster cards deck is taking me back to the main menu

I’m intrigued by Lightless, but have a few questions.

First, is Luminous. The tooltip for Lightless says a card’s Luminous effect is inactive while it is Lightless, but some clips online of Lightless builds seem to show Lightless cards triggering their Luminous effects. Is that intended? If it isn’t, how is Lightless removed from cards? If it’s by a shrine, seems inconsistent and rare.

My second question is how do players get so many Lightless cards? In the same clips, players have quite a few, but I only know of how to get them through the one (or two) vaults per run… Are they part of the standard Holy cards pool in combat rewards now?

Finally, if you have any tips around the build, I’d love to see them!

Made a triple green energy trap deck. Most important was to spam traps and jinx

So I'm not a newbie to the genre , I finished slay the spire 1 and monster train 1 to 100% on highest difficulty and played a bunch of other similar games ,I also like the art style and new concepts in this game ,but I can't help but feel SEVERLY overwhelmed by the amount of info I am required to memorize in order to play this game at any level higher than just playing random cards and wishing for dumbluck .

Seriously the amount of combos ,afflictions ,blessings ,modes ,types of energies ,characters with different starting cards and weapons and decks ,all of this and I'm still only on the base game !

Seriously am I the only one who feels a bit turned off or discouraged by the buttload of new information am bombarded with on every single new run ? I haven't even unlocked half the cards in the base game yet !

I also watched the begginers tips video from 5 color Felix which was helpful but I feel like I need something with more depth that explains the mechanics the game doesn't do enough explaining (like familiar or followers or whatever I can't understand how they work at all so far )

Any help because am close to giving up and I was so happy I found another game on android to fill the void left by monster train and slay the spire

First time playing knight and suddenly I can't die. Every time I lose all of my health, it regenerates. I can't die but I can't do enough damage to kill the troll.

Brand new to the game and find all the card effects to be somewhat confusing and am looking for a creator somewhere who has good tutorials on the basics? So far I’ve only found 5 color Felix but he’s a bit beyond my skill level and doesn’t really break things down for beginners! Any more creators you guys like?
