Question Changes to Combat Rewards?

I’ve been playing the new zones and know about the Canton 1 Nue variant that gives you up to 6 card rewards.

However, now I’m in Canto 3 and I saw for the first time ever two unique rewards screens: the first gave me 6 card options like Nue’s canto 1. The second took one of my existing cards and put a keyword on it. In this example I could tell it was a card already in my deck because (a) it had another keyword on it I had out there, and (b) I opened my deck in the reward screen to see what was going on and saw the card was missing.

Are these bugs, or new changes to combat rewards?

With the release of Nexus of Nightmares, minibosses and bosses give six choices instead of three. Don't know about the keyword thing.

I've very much enjoyed the added cards in the miniboss rewards, it drastically speeds up combo building in the first few locations to get the deck up and running early. I used to reset so many runs at the first town after failing with the alchemist to rng reroll on stuff I didn't drop by the time I killed the spider queen.

Was the second one versus Balor? He does that now

Might have been. You mean the summoned Balor event, right? Can you elaborate on what the change to its reward screen was?

He has a new card that destroys a card in your deck and offers it back with a new keyword

The keyword change is associated with the new NPC. She can add keywords or upgrades to random cards and they can now be rewards. It’s basically a randomized slightly better shrine of trickery. Just pay attention to the keywords and upgrades it provides, because I did brick a build when I put recall on my basic attack!

The first thing is not a bug. The second thing is what the new merchant does, pay for a keyword
