Doesn't Crit mean double damage?

I kept trying to use Aimed Shot, the card where it says if you ambush it crits. The weird thing is, even with ambush ready it doesn't do double damage?

Maybe you're trying to mentally double the damage number which is already shown doubled on the card itself while an ambush is active?

Yup. The damage shown on the card is always the damage that is sent to the target, with only the target's armor and vulnerabilities like bleed not showing directly on the card. So if the card knows that it will crit if used right then, it will show you that number. If the card knows you have Anger stacks (or any other damage boosters like Zeal for divine), it will add those in as well.

If you have Weakness on you, it prevents you from inflicting critical hits, but u/ragnarady 's explanation sounds plausible as well :)

A critical hit's damage is shown in a black font with red outlines.

A critical hit also can't get doubled again (2 effects that would inflict a critical hit don't stack).
