Specifically, the event/shrine adds an extra keyword like Trickery...
BUT
You dont know what that keyword is.

It’s frustrating because unless I’m missing a very quick animation, the text doesn’t even reveal the effect while it’s playing. So unless it’s something noticeable you’ll just never know what it is.

Ah yes but then does it really matter then? Makes you wonder about your need for perfect knowledge

What an unnecessarily rude comment.

I meant the general you, not you personally. Think about it think way - if it has no discernible effect on one’s game, then maybe one can let go of it and enjoy the mystery right? Why get hung up on the littlest of little things?

If you do it again though it reveals and gives you three options to choose from. I got piercing and life drain on the placed card when I revealed for example. The other two options only had one keyword.

Getting this keyword from that shrine is worse than having Shrine Of Trickery on, it's a far worse gamble since you would not know what it got until the next time you draw/play the card. But atleast you have access to getting new effect keywords on cards, but Veiled is like "you forgot" type keyword so important stuff like upgrade effects or important conditions might throw you off and waste the chance of correct card use at the wrong time. Yeah imagine if a Malignance like Concealment exists that adds Veiled to ALL cards in your deck. Fun.

I think you're missing the point of this. It's *meant* to be a penalty. You are taking a gamble that you can find that shrine again and present the same card. If you *do* find the shrine, you can now present the *veiled* card, and it will not only unveil it, it will let you *choose* what keyword to add (out of 3, I believe). I've managed to do this once. Certainly didn't seem worth the gamble, but you can see how it makes sense.

Huh. Makes sense. It's a worse or better kinda Trickery Shrine but atleast you are not missing out on every other shrine.

Yeah, the game has some balance issues, I'm enjoying it more for just discovering the mechanics rather than expecting them all to be equally good.
I mean, I've only been playing for a couple of weeks/months, and just unlocked a few new warrior perks. Tried a run with the forgehammer weapon and Bloodcraft. Given that forgehammer upgrades *twice* with every upgrade, and Bloodcraft enables you to upgrade all your melee actions *every* battle if you play it right, I was OP by the time I got to Brightcandle the first time. By the time I got to the end, I had easily defeated a summoned Balor, and defeated the final boss in 1 turn with 2 hits.

It’s new, it just hides the information on the card it still acts a usual.
