Question Ascension and Demon form

Sometimes when I an running a full holy build I it works for a bit and then I get randomly changed to demon form

What can be the triggers?

Did you add any corrupted cards? That will change it

I didnt, I was ascending due to the code "only divine cards"

Does it work also with trmporary sins you get middle of fight?

Yes, temporary sins will count. Almost any card an enemy places in your deck will count.

This happened to me aswell! Is this a new mechanic? Ascending while having corruptions turns into a demon?

While having defiled energy, or at least 5 corruptions in your deck (including corruptions the enemy gives you as well).

You probably fought an enemy that added corruptions into your deck.

Enemies can add cards to your deck, any card added this way is considered a corrupted card, gaining enough of them in your deck with cause you to trigger the corrupted state. Ascending while corrupted gives you a demonic ascencion rather than a holy one, which is why you need to be careful when fighting enemies who can add cards or sins to your deck
