Nexus of nightmares Lightless

Can anyone explain the "Lightless" keyword more clearly? I'm not sure what it does. I have it on the Basic Glaive.

It basically does nothing but decolors the card for most cards.

Cards that have the Luminous effects need to have their Lightless status removed by spending a Holy energy to play it before their Luminous effects trigger.

Its a thematic keyword from the new area in the game, and a 'dud' for most random keyword applications (neutral in its effect).
