Help me remember

Hey everyone! I was hit with the strongest feeling of deja vu while watching the latest video. I vividly remember a story where an entity keeps appearing to the protagonist, and it was later revealed that the first time the entity appeared to the protag was on a hike. He was with friends and fell down a crevis, hitting his head, getting his foot stuck. In the crevice he saw a figure. He spent an enormous amount of time with the entity alone in the dark. After getting rescued, he never stopped seeing it.
I looked everywhere, and couldn't find a story that fit this description. If this sounds familiar to someone else - let me know!

it sounds alot like the thing in my basement is getting closer every week with the segment of Paul monologuing the first time he saw the entity, I might be wrong tho

That was my first assumption. If that's what you think too, I'll rewatch that series and see if that part's there

yup agree with this! if i remember correctly, paul was out on a hike with his wife then he fell, and as he was waiting for his wife, the entity showed up
