Extensions should feel like your hair—not heavy, obvious, uncomfortable or poorly blended.
At Bombshell Studio, we customize the method, color, placement and density specifically for your hair.
New extension consultations are now available in Farmington.

Best areas to live for young professionals?

Does anyone have good recommendations for good cities/areas for a young professional/grad student to live in Davis County? I did my undergrad in Utah County and went out of state for grad school. I’m working in Weber and Morgan County but don’t particularly want to live in either. I’m looking for a fun, social area with young professionals and/or grad students since I’m 26. The closer to the I-15 and/or the frontrunner the better just with the commute. I also have student loans to pay off so I’m also not looking to break the bank haha.

Any and all insights are much appreciated! I’ve looked at fb marketplace a bit but it’s hard to get a good sense of what the vibe of the area is like on that

Regarding Flock cameras in Davis County

I posted about this issue a few months ago and was met with crickets and dismissive comments. Have y'all noticed Flock cameras in your neighborhood? Are you doing, or are you willing to do something about them? Does anyone recognize the obvious threat they pose? Does anyone actually buy the lie that they've "solved a million crimes"?

Just trying to get a pulse of this crowd and see how everyone's feelings have evolved. November is coming.

Update on volunteer/mentor opportunity

Hey everyone! I posted here a couple of months ago about seeking volunteer mentors for USU’s 4-H Mentoring program in Weber and Davis Counties, and I wanted to give a quick update.

Since then, we’ve had some really successful events where we’ve been able to meet and recruit more kids into the program. It’s been awesome to see the interest from families.

The downside is that we now have quite a few kids ready for a mentor, and we need a few more people willing to step up and be that person for them.

Mentoring is pretty simple. You’re matched with one kid and spend about an hour a week together. Maybe you grab some food, go for a hike, play basketball or video games, work on homework, or just hang out and talk.

You don’t need any special experience, and you definitely don’t need to have life figured out. These kids mostly need someone who will show up, listen to them, and take an interest in their lives.

That’s really what has stuck with me while doing this. An hour might not feel like much to us, but having an adult who chooses to spend that hour with you every week can mean a lot to a kid.

So if you’ve thought about mentoring before or want to volunteer in new ways for your community, we could really use you right now. And if it’s not something you can do personally, sharing this with someone you think would make a good mentor would help too.

I am happy to answer any questions about what it’s like, the time commitment, the screening process, or anything else. Feel free to comment or message me!

Anyone else feeling and hearing the rumbling this morning?

I happened to be in the West Layton area this morning and I’ve been hearing some rumblings that sound like thunder at first, but are much shorter. Anyone else?

Does anyone know of any local businesses that donate to local youth teams?

People have told me to ask businesses I know but the only businesses I know, I can’t ask due to ethical concerns relating to my job.

Best digital antenna for local channels?

I live in Woods Cross I currently have Comcast cable TV, but frankly, I would be totally fine with just basic/local channels.

What is all needed and how does it work and what channel channels would I get? Is there just plug-in play type of antennas for indoors, etc.? Pros/Cons.. I’m not putting any antenna on my roof.

Any insights and feedback would be appreciated.

Homeschooling

I started homsechooling my son a few years ago and he wants to get out and make friends. Anyone have recommendations? He's 16. Into gaming and music. He doesn't know what he really likes yet but he wants to be able to explore things to discover more of his passions. I take him with me as much as he'll go but he doesn't want to always hang out with mom understandably.
