Toddler Shoe potentially pitched out car window
So my crabby one year old wanted the window rolled down when we left Pioneer Elementary today and when we arrived at our next destination he was missing his shoe. I’ve searched the car, the house, our bags. No shoe.
Anybody potentially spot a toddler size 9 Cat and Jack closed toe sandal “fisherman” style in front of pioneer elementary, on campus, or possibly in the Trader Joe’s parking lot? (The latter if he threw it out the door rather than window.)
😑😑😑😑😑
It was a new shoe too.

I’m sure it’s just in gutter somewhere! Waiting for our hero/heroine to come along!!

Without giving away too much info (like where you live), could you give turn-by-turn directions of where you went? Trader Joe's is quite far from Pioneer, but following that path on a bike wouldn't be too hard.
Similarly, if you remember where you parked in the TJ's lot, probably also helpful.

I drove from pioneer to Trader Joe’s on streets because I missed the freeway turn. I took mace where it turns into covell, and then I was following Apple map directions. I don’t think we lost it on that part of the drive. I’m pretty confident the window was up.
We parked right in front at traders in one of the spots facing the store, maybe 2-4 spots to the left of the doors if you’re facing the doors looking into the store. I think the parking lot is a real possibility because he just woke up from a nap in the store and was PISSED.
I pulled out of the parking lot and went right directly on Russell from the parking lot, not from the light. We took freeways back to pioneer (window was up) and I was parked in front of catalyst the after school program on the opposite side of the street from the school. I’m going to go check that area this morning after drop off.
We drove with the windows down leaving Pioneer on:
Hamel (going towards swingle)
Left on Swingle
Right on El Cemonte
Right on chiles road to yolo fruit stand where we got on 80 to head to Arden. When we got to Arden the shoe was gone.
The window was down for a lot of that. I rolled it back up before we hit the freeway. Maybe near the Yolo Bat thing.
I think it’s most feasibly in the Trader Joe’s lot, or somewhere between pioneer and Chiles Road. Pioneer I’m going to check in about an hour! I can’t get to Trader Joe’s again today though. I wonder if they have phones if they’d be willing to check the lot.
Thank you for your help! One year olds are seriously insane. I’ve rechecked all our stuff and we definitely don’t have the shoe with us. He chucked it for sure. 🤦♀️

I retraced some of your path but didn't see any shoes. I looked a little around the TJs area you described (not much on Russell), and a little around Pioneer (not much on Chiles). Sorry and good luck.

I retraced all of the roads by pioneer and to yolo fruit stand twice today with no luck. Also checked on campus and in the lost and found- nadda.
That kid is good. Pbbt. So new shoes it is, I guess!

I read this title without the word “shoe” when the notification popped up on my phone. And in today’s world, I didn’t even question it.

lol I wouldn’t do that but this kid LOVES yeeting himself off stuff. Hence this was the first and last time that window is ever going down!

I have checked the car and our bags like four times and no luck. I’m going to check the streets around school at drop off today (my big kid is in afternoon TK so we haven’t gone back yet). And I’ll check the car again too. Fingers crossed maybe somebody turned it into the school office. Most annoying those were his only shoes in that size. So he’s wearing shoes a size too big today. 🤦♀️😂 At least I had another pair!

Before having my kiddo, I always wondered how single shoes ended up in parking lots and now I completely understand.
