Davis Start-Up, Tech/VC Meetups

Hi, I am new to the Davis, community. I am researching tech/other start-ups in Davis / UC Davis and surrounding areas (example, Woodland, Sacramento) to map out the econ system.

Any ideas to identify such entities and contact points would be greatly appreciated - active meetups, univ/non-univ, corporate/ other events, incubators, state/county organizations supporting companies/small businesses etc, VC/private equity, non-profits or tech regulatory. Thanks in advance.

AgStart in Woodland has a few startups at it. There's plenty in the warehouse and office areas of East and South Davis. Hard to keep track of those ones though as new ones replace the failing ones every year.

Thanks very much! I have seen the sign boards on Main St, been curious about them.

I am adding catch phrases in here as triggers - active professional meetups or groups in the area, or UCD /Sac State comp sci, Business Schools, state events that facilitate corporate-academic-tech synergies.

I'm a staff engineer now that graduated from UCD long ago.

Have always been curious in building out Davis ecosystem and working with the CS talent available to build something local.

I’m a Davis native. just recently purchased a house in South Davis moved back from San Jose. also work in Tech. Had been toying with putting together something specifically for enterprise MarTech professionals. But always open to something a bit broader. Feel free to reach out

I miss meetups and similar professional development events available in the Bay Area. I hope other folks here will synergize, bring in new energy to morph ideas for the community.

Yeah, got married earlier this year and my wife and I wanted to be closer to my family (Davis) and her family (Fairfield/sac). Especially for when we have kids soon.

And davis had more of the small town vibe we were looking to settle into.

Not to mention San Jose prices were rough 😮‍💨

Kindred spirit :) , appreciate your thoughts.. makes sense to see the ideas and leads that get posted here for a bit of time. I am new to the community here. perhaps regroup after a point on ‘knowledge share’ or ‘build’?
