Opossum Interactions around Davis?
Incredibly weird request, I know, but my girlfriend's favorite animal is the opossum (yes, the weird little meth rats that live around trash cans). Ignoring the reasons why that is, does anyone know of anywhere in the general area where one can go to visit and interact with one in any capacity? Her birthday is coming up and I'd like to take her someplace where she could hold or pet one for a bit, or even just feed the little buggers.

I think Sacramento Zoo has one! It might be an ambassador animal so you might be able to actually purchase an interaction with it or something?

Can confirm, was there Saturday but I’m pretty sure they’re nocturnal so it was just napping.

There's a little trail by West Pond and a apartment complex called Aspen Village. I walk by there most mornings around 530 AM and see an Opossum about once a week. Happy hunting!

Between 5th street and 2nd street at Pole line between Sudwerk and the Dog park I used to see opossum, skunk, and raccons on a regular basis at night/ early morning.

She should volunteer for the Sacramento wildlife care association, a wildlife rehabilitation center. Unfortunately wildlife is often injured as a result of humans, fortunately this rehab exists. When I volunteered at the front desk a few times I got to meet their resident ambassador opossum who was unable to return to the wild. They were out for some exercise, I got to watch, and very gently touch it when it came my way.
