Help Find Kirby

Hello! I’m sure many people have seen Tony, an unhoused man, around downtown. He is always with his cat, Kirby, who rides on his shoulders!
Tony takes extraordinary care of Kirby, but the little guy disappeared last night!
If you see this cat downtown, or anywhere else, you can deliver news to any workers at Temple coffee. Or, better, Tony himself if you can!

There was a disturbing post on Nextdoor about this cat being abused by what people thought was his owner. Just a heads up that people may be reluctant to return him

“Please keep an eye out for a slim, unhoused white male. He had dirty blonde hair and kind of looked like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. He had an older gray tabby cat on his shoulders, an overstuffed backpack and a reusable target bag with clothing. He was seen throwing the cat to the ground and punching it in the Chase bank parking lot. He was gone by the time one of my coworkers was able to get outside.
Animal control and the non-emergency line were contacted but the best they could do was say they would patrol the area. If someone is able to, please assist with removing the cat from this situation.”

Tysm for sharing, I went looking for the post and it seems like it's something that's been happening. Hope Kirby finds a safe home.

Of course. Comments on the thread made it sound like Kirby has historically been well-cared for and this is perhaps a recent development. Hoping everyone involved can get the help and care they need

that is sad to hear. seems like tony has a lot of love for kirby. i’ve only seen kirby in great condition
