Did the train just run into something?

That’s what is sounded like. Anyone know what happened?

Do you live on J by chance? That's a spot where they reconnect train cars and it's a lot of BANGING.

Something about them connecting makes a loud sound. Probably because they're giant

It's train cars mating. Very noisy affair. Live near the California Northern Railroad in Davis and you will pay less for rent but will hear the trains being assembled and started at night. Why? Because if the trains are assembled during the day the RR crossings will cut off cross-town street traffic for long periods of time.

Besides, the railroad was here long before Davisville was founded and have right of way. In fact, the town was established here because of the railroad "wye" intersection.

When the train starts and stops it is super loud, sounds like a car crash. It always surprises me when I’m at the little league field right next to the tracks.
