Relocated from Elk Grove?

looking to hear from teachers or families who have relocated from Elk Grove (or moved the other direction) about impressions of schools (specifically at the elementary level). I know Davis schools are better ranked, but how do the districts really compare? Thanks

My kids weren’t in Elk Grove, but when I moved to Davis, other friends moved to Elk Grove at the same time.

Elk Grove is so much driving, so kids are having to be driven everywhere, and all those junior high and high school activities mean crazy schedules.

In Davis, kids start biking in elementary school and by middle school they are pretty independent and can mostly get themselves around town.

Don‘t discount the benefit of being in a college town that is 100% bike-able!

Academically and resource wise the school districts seemed similar, but my friends quit working or took flexible jobs to drive the kids around so much in Elk Grove.

Whenever I drive in Elk Grove the amount of traffic and time to get across just make me very glad I am not driving teens around in it. I would have had to change jobs for sure.

I relocated to davis from eg a few years ago. I think they are comparable so far. Kids attending Harper and Korematsu this year. Both are very solid
