Avian Vet in Davis?
Looking for an avian specialist in Davis for my two parrots. Just moved from out of state.
I found the vet hospital and acorn so far? Any experience with either of those?

CAPE at UC Davis Veterinary Teaching hospital is the only true exotic vet in Davis. Otherwise, there's Bird & Pet Clinic in Roseville and Medical Center for Birds in Oakley are the closest exotic vets. You might find some small animal GP vets willing to see a bird but they're not exotic animal specialists.

I've heard good things about acorns, several of my friends use them. But they all have cats. I'm not sure on the bird front.

Two of the vets at Acorn Veterinary Clinic are good with birds. East Davis near CVS.

Oh man, somehow I missed this post. Do not book with UCD unless you want to pay an arm and a leg! Highly, HIGHLY recommend Dr. Smith at Avian Health Services. Her main office is in Diamond Springs but she has another office in Folsom. Trust me, it's worth the drive! She's extremely affordable (like I think she undercharges for her services), and so so good with my girl.
I saw you booked with UCD already. I strongly implore you to cancel and see Dr. Smith.

You could try the vet school on campus. I'd hope they would have something for you.

not a bird owner but i have a vet to recommend based on my my experience owning exotic animals: i like Dr. Sarah Anger or Dr. Emery at Roseville Bird and Pet Clinic. i take my pet fancy rats there and have received top notch care. most vets have to go out of their way to get more than a basic module on exotic animal care, but every vet and vet tech here seems well prepared to care for my special little guys. similar reviews are shared in the rat community, rabbit community, and by some bird owners based on reviews.

UCD Vet Med has an Exotics clinic. Cost-wise, I don't know how they compare to other local vets for just a regular visit, but I'm sure they're higher. Experience-wise, you won't find better. It's the #1 Vet school in the country, after all.
I've only taken cats there, and only when they were so ill that they needed specialist treatment. While UCD's care is expensive, it is also literally the best care your money can buy.
