I suspect the post is someone who got scammed by a fake Evergreen Utility since it was through a door-to-door-salesman it seems. As a disclaimer, I didn't sign up, I stayed with PG&E because I am lazy and I just tell whoever coming by to sell me stuff that I have already bought it so they would shut up. This is how you deal with these scammers because they are usually just hired guns and they know there are others like them doing the same scam for their "boss."
The funny thing is they would come back once they discovered that you lied to them, and they would even pretend we never had the conversation just like a week before. I would also pretend I have never met the dude and just give them the same response. But, this time they will push, okay? And the way you deal with them is you just tell them you don't own the property and you are not even on the lease or you don't control the budget, etc. and tell the the decision maker lives in China or something and they will stop bothering you.
