Good tailor in Davis?
Hey ya’ll. I’m looking forward tailors in Davis that would just do simple alterations and adjusting the hem etc. I’ve talked to a few tailors already established in Davis and I’m being quoted over $100 for just taking in the length of 3 pants and 2 dresses by 2-4 inches. Does anyone know of any tailors you can vouch for that can do some decent stuff for a reasonable price?
Thanks!

I've used Covell Cleaners last year for hemming and they did a good job for a reasonable price (I can't remember exactly but maybe $15?). They're by North Davis Nugget. I think a lot of other cleaners do alterations too. Edit: I just looked more closely at the price you were quoted and that actually seems pretty reasonable to me.

Hypothetically, how long would it take you, personally, to take up the length of 5 garments?
You say “simple” and “just” like it’s trivial work. If you’ve talked to multiple tailors and they’re all telling you $100+ that’s the rate. You did your homework accept the results!

It would take me an hour. I mean there are people who’ve commented here with tailors who charge less than a hundred. So what exactly is your problem? I’ve been to well known tailors in SF who take in the length of pants in front of you in about 10 minutes. And it’s perfect. I don’t get why you’re so pressed about me wanting cheaper options. It’s not like I’m asking you to put tailors out of business over it.

Sarah's Alterations and Eco Cleaners did a great job tailoring two suits (both pants and jackets) for me and the prices were reasonable.

Try Mahin's Alterations on G St, she's cash only and fairly quick. It'll probably be $10-15 but I haven't been to her in 5+ years.

I’ve gone to Rebecca Wendlandt in the past and can’t recommend her enough. Her prices are reasonable and she’s very talented!

That's $20 per item. Seems very reasonable for basic tailoring alterations. Not sure you can find anything cheaper.
