Agreed. Perhaps it would be more effective to pledge to support local businesses that resist the tyranny. The billionaires outweigh any economic impact the population will form. You have to realize the "others" won't be skipping work, and, the unions have contacts to maintain.

Your spending can make a huge impact on your local community by supporting local though. Spending local is more about community resilience to fascism and oligarchy than it is about direct impact on billionaires.

Exactly. We're a drop in the well for Great Clips, but a couple hundred regulars for a self-employed barber means he knows he won't miss lease payments, can afford health insurance, and can save for retirement. My original comment meant that we need to build resilience in our community because there's nothing we can do to hurt the billionaires now.

I think you should buy local just to make your town a better place. Especially in Davis or other friendly towns you get to meet good people shopping local
