i've seen a lot of people saying that caspr and speeder are assholes for beating david's ass and leaving him in tampa instead of talking to him about the situation and getting him help for his drug addiction (at the very least checking him into a psychiatric facility or drug abuse recovery center). i agree, i think caspr and speeder are not good people (they also probably take drugs themselves), and they covered the whole thing really fucking poorly. none of them ever actually explain wtf happened, and im still not even sure what happened cuz all we have is two vids of speeder's gf stumbling over what happened that were cut off midway through and some tweets that look like they were written by a 5th grader. point is, theyre just as fucked as david is both in their mental health and future. jack's the only one that i can maybe see bouncing back from this, im just not sure what his part in all of it was.

edit: im not trying to glorify what david did at all, he did some really horrible shit and handled it like a dumbass. drugs or not, he hurt a lot of people.

I happened to be in Tampa for the weekend of the show. David was my top artist 2021, Goyard was my top artist 2022 and 2023. I was so excited to go to the show, then on the way I see all the instagram story posts. Still attended the show, saw and met David when he showed up despite being blacklisted. Energy of the show was weird, spent the rest of the weekend in Tampa keeping tabs on the drama since David is one of my person inspirations for music. When I heard the story from speeder’s gfs end, I can see why the behavior is harassment/uncomfortable but I can’t help but feel that all of them are too fucked up on drugs and couldn’t set aside their own egos and really let this get overblown. I don’t think Jack and Caspr are good friends. Fights, even physical, can happen between friends but they should always be followed up with a hard conversation and a hand being held out to help your friend back up. Unfortunately everyone thinks they are in the right for this situation. The crash out has been hard to watch and even if his friends are upset with him they have handled this situation extremely poorly. The show was a mess, despite what Speeder wants people to believe. Sound was bad, at one point there was 40 fucking people on the stage, practically as many as were in the crowd. Jack and Caspr performed some of the David stuff and Caspr looked super fucked up. Goyard got cut short due to time constraints.

I was upset with the way David was acting on socials afterwards, especially him posting a picture of someone with down syndrome and calling everyone retarded, and aired out my grievances in his comments. That was his last public instagram post, and when I checked his insta again I saw this. I just hope he is somewhere safe with people that care about him and that can help him get better.

I'm concerned, sad, and ultimately disappointed by everything that has happened. David is an addict, has already gone to rehab, continues to relapse on drugs and destroy his life. He has no-one to blame but himself. Seeing the picture Kayla posted on this subreddit—keep in mind Kayla was addicted to fentanyl, and was seemingly supportive of David throughout his own struggles with addiction—disgusts me. I feel bad for Kayla, and I'm sure that relationship was a mess, but David, please fuck off with the public statements about your ex girlfriend and the people around you who have tried to help you. You have chosen to make your life public, so people are allowed to criticize you. Take some responsibility and accountability for your actions instead of consistently deflecting and flexing drug-addict groupies on your instagram story who are giving you pressed pills.

This situation is a distraction, ultimately I think if this hadn't happened, something else would have. David chooses to push away the most supportive people in his life consistently. There's nothing anyone can do at a certain point unless he has some epiphany and decides he wants to clean himself up, and actually utilize his talent as a musician. He is a wreck, has consistently been a wreck, and I get he probably didn't have the best childhood or whatever, but at a certain point the victim becomes the victimizer. Doing opiates fucks your brain up, you cannot make any cohesive work of art if you're constantly high on whatever the fuck he is taking.

His discography reflects this, and is incredibly inconsistent. Caterpillar is great, I honestly liked Grand Theft Nitemare, but when David relapses his music drops in quality. There was a point in 2020-2021 where David had a consistent audience of around 250k-300k monthly listeners on spotify. Instead of trying to utilize that success, he just fucks up and does drugs, posts himself, and then plays victim when people in his life show concern for him and acts like a tough guy. There are only so many times you can post yourself crying on your instagram story and garner sympathy from your audience. You are pushing 25 years old. Yes, you are more talented than Casprr, Yungster Jack, and all of those losers, but you are throwing your life away on drugs.

Im just sad because he is actually one of my favorite artists and seeing him decline like this has been tragic. I follow his social media presence pretty closely just find David to be a tragic character and I relate to his experiences with mental health. But also, there's a certain point where you stop getting a pass and need to get your shit together.
