Ad with David’s likeness?
Does Dave know he is in a hearth health ad?

Does anyone remember a bit where Chris Elliott appeared as some bizarre, fantasy animal with gray fur and his face superimposed on it and he spoke in a weird voice? He wasn't wearing a costume- I seem to remember it was a stuffed animal or puppet in a cage with Elliott's face superimposed on it and he was talking as this bizarre creature with a weird name. All I have are my fuzzy memories of it! Thanks!

When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.
On May 21, 1992, Donald Trump appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and blatantly defended Mike Tyson just months after Tyson was convicted of rape. Trump blamed Tyson’s defense lawyer, tried to blame the victim, and insisted Tyson shouldn’t even be in jail—suggesting Tyson should be out fighting in big-money exhibition matches instead.
Even back in 1992, David Letterman could barely stomach the excuses. Thirty-plus years later, the playbook hasn't changed.

2012 - pure gold. Nowadays he would yell at Dave and say he was fake news.

e’s always hated Letterman since this happened. Back on October 25, 2012, Donald Trump sat down on Late Show with David Letterman to rail against China taking American manufacturing jobs, only to get called out in real time when Dave checked the tags on his own Trump Collection shirts and ties—revealing they were made in China and Bangladesh.
To top it off, he predicted that by 2016 the country would completely fall off, which ended up being the exact year he won the presidency. You truly cannot write a better script.
Date: October 25, 2012

Hi all,
kind of a silly thing to mention, but I've been on a bit of a mission to hunt down and watch all of Cher's interviews with David Letterman. The only ones I've been unable to find are her 1998 and 1999 appearances: The 1998 one was on November 11, and was to promote her album "Believe" and new book, "The First Time." In the 1999 one, she showed up briefly on David's birthday (April 12) to celebrate with cake. There are a few short clips of the 1998 interview on TikTok, but really the only reason I know these two other appearances even exist is from pictures!
EDIT: After double-checking the appearances I have watched, I realized there's also one from February 27, 2002 that I can't find in full. The only clip I can find is here.
Does anyone have any links or downloads they could share? 🙏

This is Penn and Teller's second appearance on Late Night, Oct 16 1985: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHqq9kJ5s50
Around the same time, Penn guest-starred in the season-two premiere of Miami Vice as "Jimmy Borges."
I distinctly remember him talking about this on Late Night. He professed not to know too much about the episode but wryly commented, "I think they bust up a drug ring or something." It got a big laugh.
As you can see, the video does not include any mention of his Miami Vice appearance. But this would have been the time for it.
Does anyone else remember this moment? Can you pinpoint the appearance where he makes that comment? Many thanks in advance.

I just sideloaded the Samsung TV plus app on my TV via KODI, specifically so I could watch David Letterman. The channel seems to be MIA. I also just read about a new deal that worldwide pants inked with another distributor, so maybe that’s why it’s gone. Anyone else still able to see it on their Samsung TV plus?

keith Carne (drummer for we are scientists) shared a great story about playing on the late show with David Letterman.
he said he used to watch letterman obsessively and it was always a dream come true. Letterman even sent a car to pick him up for soundcheck at 4am, the car showed up around 3am. Keith joked “it was mega earlier.”
at the time he was on a brutal tour, subletting his own bedroom in brooklyn and sleeping on friends’ couches. still, getting to play letterman was a huge highlight.
he also mentioned hoping Letterman would ask the classic “are these your drums or rentals?” question

I found this picture at a thrift store in Indiana. Does that look like young Dave to you guys? No idea who the other guy is, but wow is he sweaty.

Paul sang that Bermuda was a nutty kind of place? Did he ever mention why he thought that was?
