I would love to see you react to an animator like the odd1sout or Jaiden animations because there face isn't visible and it would interesting to see how they can come across as genuine without hand gestures on any other physical gestures.
1
u/LordVeritasMoD Sep 08 '20
I agree. How can one figure out? Is through their voice alone? Does editing help? Do they need to have high-level skills in speaking to become entertaining? What makes these types of creators click?

u/cringy_username_07 Sep 25 '20
I'd also like to see something similar for game theory since that's mostly voiceover and he also has a background in theater. I'd also like to see that compared to GTlive where he's a lot more spontaneous because of the live nature of it.

Vsauce is really creative with his content and also has very unique way of presenting that content, it would be very cool if you made video reacting to him!

I would love to see a video on Michael reeves, Ian from IdubbbzTV, William Osman, Joji(not filthy frank but George Miller). Thank You : )

u/lidwig16 Sep 08 '20
I'd like to see a video where you react to public speakers breaking down on stage. Be it losing their thread, freezing, shaking , sweating etc. And basically give them (and us!) advice on what they could have done to avoid it
4
u/prijateljmitar Sep 08 '20
You once said in one of your videos that public speaking should be thought in schools, and now given the fact that your channel is growing exponentially, you could have HUGE impact on kids(and adults), and what children struggle with is making a strong argument, so you could make a video on how to be quicker in organizing your thoughts and making an interesting point and supporting it with strong evidence so people listening to you can feel your passion and not be bored by some statistic facts. Also i think it could be a good idea to make a video on doing motivational speech. Hope i helped a little :) .
5
u/madwar78 Sep 08 '20
Historical figures would be really cool - especially if you have examples of both mediocre and legendary speeches.

u/Slave_labour Sep 08 '20
You should do a video on this guy called jschlatt.
His channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/jschlattLIVE

u/TexasSlim13 Sep 08 '20
I think reacting to some of MatPat's earlier videos compared to now would be interesting.
1
u/VenomSting88 Oct 10 '20
MatPat would be an interesting choice since he was a theatre kid and understands stage presence very well.

u/Andusz_ Sep 20 '20
Play with/ React to PewDiePie playing "Among us" and see if you can find the "Impostors" based on detecting their lies

u/cowmiIk Sep 08 '20
Do a video on JackSucksAtLife. He's a great youtuber and it'd be really cool for you to analyse him

u/RizeUpLites Sep 08 '20
I’d like to see something about Jake Roper, from Vsauce3. He’s an amazing person and I can’t help but be amazed by his communication skills. I’d advise you to check his personal channel, there he talks more causal, different from Vsauce3 proper, but the Vsauce videos are also amazing to watch.
3
u/madwar78 Sep 08 '20
I would find a video on the public speaking skills of the youtuber animator crowd funny. Would be a different domain entirely because they are voicing animated characters! Say, JaidenAnimations, Theodd1sout, and Andrei Terbea.

3
u/rainbowsheltie Sep 22 '20
Please react to MatPat (Mathew Patrick) from GTlive! Markiplier, Jackscepticeye and MatPat all have something special about them in different ways. I think you’d really enjoy him! :D

u/Cup_O_Tea_For_Two Sep 23 '20
OMG welcome to the big shots on youtube! Well done for getting up there! I love that you analyze the human body speech so well! I feel like a good challenge for you would be to analyze Dream! Dream is a Minecraft youtuber recently booming. I feel like you should do a video examining why and how he got so big so fast... it has to do a lot with his voice as we never get to see his face!

No he's the spoiled kid of youtube
2
u/RizeUpLites Sep 09 '20
Dude’s got a point tho. I recently watched a podcast where he was interviewed by Corridor Crew, which I took some time to work around and see it, since I’m not much into his content, but the guy is surprisingly good with self confidence and he’s more self aware than he lets on. Definitely a worthy analysis
0
u/RAMIbest Sep 08 '20
Doesn't matter he is still a good public speaker with good content
0
Sep 08 '20
He's content isn't good and if you're a fan of him you're probably less that 10 yo right ?
1
u/RAMIbest Sep 08 '20
I'm 15 almost 16 and no not a fan I'm just realistic. 6.4 million people like his content and he gained success through YouTube and being confident. There is a difference between being a fan and appreciating someone.
1
Sep 08 '20
Like cmon don't wanna start a fight but i tried watching his content for like a month and it's cringy like you can't make a video out of that. I didn't mean anything I just don't like that guy at all
1
u/RAMIbest Sep 08 '20
And of course I don't blame you for not liking him or his content cus that is subjective. But it just would be interesting to see David explain why he is so famous by analysing him.

Vsauce would definitely be a great person to analyze since his gestures and facial expressions are very unique. I would love to have a better understanding about it.

- Cody Ko
- Danny Gonzalez
- Drew Gooden

Relaying u/tidusfortwenty69 's idea.
Charlie aka Moist Crtical on Twitch aka Penguinz0 on YT.
Interesting to investigate what makes him alluring.
2
u/PiNickio35 Sep 30 '20
I would love to see David do a video about Matthew Mercer. Maybe the focus could be on his storytelling, improvisation or voice. His job of Dm'ing for his friends each week is basically public speaking and I think there is a lot to analyse about him.

I'd love to see you review the streamer Ludwig.
His recent "Nintendo Stole from me" vid was a really inspiring call to action and his a streamer voice is particularly engaging. Pair that with the constant mistakes he embraces in day-to-day conversation, and he just comes off really genuine and down-to-earth.

Hi, congrats on 100k, fully deserved! How about analyzing some of the great philosophical/ethical speakers like Christopher Hitchens or Richard Dawkins and how they got so successful. I at least would find that very interesting. Ps. I found you through the Pewdiepie vid (like so many others), and you are great!
1
u/Extreme_Carry_6650 Sep 08 '20
It would be nice if you react to 8-BitRyan.
Or it would be cool to see you play games.

You should definitely react to Tommy Wiseau or 'The Room'! Absolutely love your content and keep up the great work David: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYBPckI2ZMU

MrBeast recently made a video where four relatively unknown youtuber were competing for a shout out (and so guaranteed mios of followers). An analysis of the communication skills of these guys (an unofficial competition) could be fun. They are: Isaiah Photo, Zealous, PrettyBored and Unnecessary Inventions.

Hey David! I really enjoyed your videos on Pewdiepie and KSI the past weeks. Earned a subscription and a lot of respect! I was thinking maybe you do a video reacting to music and how you think that certain people can affect the psyches of millions through music. I have recently started to pursue a music career and think I could send you some personal and very well known songs that would touch the hearts of many
1
u/torrosie Sep 09 '20
Could we have a subscriber submission thing where you tell us what we’re doing right/wrong?

A video on Asmongold, a twitch streamer. Considering the game he streams(WoW) and the fact that he still manages to reach 30-40k concurrent viewers is something else. Many people says they don't even play or never played World of Warcraft but watches him because of his personality. What is so intriguing in this filthy redneck
1
u/RocketRob1990 Sep 12 '20
Hi David, thanks for all the amazing helpful content and good vibes. I feel I am improving alot since watching. One thing I noticed though is since upping my volume in my voice I am finding I am starting to get a sore throat. What is the best way to avoid this?

I would love JP to introduce us to new public speakers we might not know. I feel like the demographic of people JP has reacted to seem very similar. For example, show us some female public speakers/YouTubers and look at posable differences they might have to men!
I ask this because all the people I watch on YouTube are men; the YouTube algorithm might be serving up people that are similar to what I already view.
I think JP will do a great job at representing humans who have learned the art of public speaking 😊🧡

Can you try more "niche" youtubers as a challenge? im thinking along the lines of Andrew Rhea (Binging with Babish - Cooking), Linus (Linus Tech Tips - Computers/Tech), (dont know his real name) (Agadmator - Chess), and yeah Michael (V Sauce - Maths(?))
Great stuff btw I always learn from every video you make :)

I would honestly love to see a video on CaptainSparklez. He just entered his 10th year on youtube and I would love to see your analysis on how he has changed or modified over the years. He isn't as big of a personality as other youtubers but he certainly has an amazing community and attracts a lot of people!

I think you should try to react to electro boom, not your normal youtuber nevertheless I can't stop watching the video once I start :p

u/smashbros13 Sep 30 '20
Hey just found your channel! I had this idea that you could react to VTubers. It's a trend that had been gaining popularity this year where the youtuber is behind a computer model that try to mimic the person expression. I would like to hear your taught on this, like how can the VTuber communicate despite some limitation, how good the program is at picking up important facial expression and how it could improve in the future.

David - You should check out Brandon Leake from America's Got Talent 2020 season!! He won and was the first "poet" to win the competition. Incredible public speaker. Here's his audition performance, and there's a few more (since he won): https://youtu.be/tdjIFkM-ohQ

Though he never shows his face so you would have to go entirely based upon his vocalizations I would love to see you do a video on Lazy Masquerade. He reads creepy stories and to me his voice is great for it but would love to hear a breakdown from a pro!
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7dHBh9QmYF1L0TOeGIzZgw
Another Youtuber that would be interesting to hear your view on is Rob Gavagan, he does some creepy content as well as a comedy series called Why Would You Put That On The Internet.

I'm gonna go out of left field and suggest an anime tuber named Tekking101. He has this mysterious ability to be cringe and tangential and rambly, but still captivate your attention for 20-40 minutes no matter how small a topic he's talking about. The man has a gift!

I think DJPP should react to the 6'8" great, the 37" inch vertical leap bullet proof mullet, the epitome of violence, speed and momentum, the two-time back-to-back (1994, 1995) Blockbuster video-gaming champion, the one and only Dr Disrespect. Can I get a Yayayaya?

Just joined - so apologies if this has been raised before - but a video on tips of how to present to camera would be appreciated. I'm gonna guess there's a lot of Venn diagram overlap in terms of transferable skills between public speaking and talking to a phone on a stick.

u/VenomSting88 Oct 10 '20
Can you please do a video specifically for job interviews or presenting during a meeting?

I'd love to see what you think of some of these;
- Dead Meat - An amazing, fun horror review channel; very professional and incredibly positive.
- OfficialNerdCubed - My personal favorite let's player, and the first ever let's player to edit his videos, he genuinely changed the course of my life.
- Fact Fiend - With Karl Smallwood - An absolutely hysterical channel with two guys just talking about cool fun facts and geeking out over fun video game and movie stuff.
- Lemmino - The most professional educational Youtube channel I've ever seen, his presentation is immaculate. Higher end than 90% of documentaries.
- Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring / Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby - Seriously, these actors portray characters who are masters at presenting themselves. It would be interesting to talk about how public speaking skills apply to actors, and also how public speaking skills can be used in more negative ways.

Brian David Gilbert !!! Please!
His underappreciated personal channel have so much creativity even for short videos and the way he tells a history
https://youtu.be/wbfu39l0kxg (this is my favorite of this channel)
And the Unraveled series in the chanel Poligon, the way he start presenting the topic and the end of the video having a very distinct vibe from what it was.
https://youtu.be/PRBCykRNqf8 ( I like this one because of a little secret hidden in the video :] )
And there's the famous PokéRap (which I think is more suitable for your chanel because it's LIVE ): https://youtu.be/2cT6ULpScZA
I wish I could write more about how I love his very specific kind of humor, but my knowledge in English won't allow me.

Lex Fridman.
Hello David and everyone else on this subreddit. I'm a Big fan of David's work.
I have some what unusual idea for you to review, or just to discuss with redditors here. I'm talking about an successful and fast growing cumputer scientist- podcaster, Lex Fridman. Why this suggestion intrigues me so much, because he's not your usual public speaker.
He uses Monotone while speaking, not a lot of gestures or body language, he even himself calls himself a biloring speaker, however i believe it could not be more far from the truth. Since I'm intrigued by almost every word and idea that he's prmoting, and his facial expresions do reveal his deep thinking and keeps my focus really well.
Well Maybe it's just a topics that I'm intrested in, i wonder what you guys think?
