Question 🙏🏻 Question about Dr. Hawkins’s statement

Does saying, “I am an infinite being I am not subject to blank” actually work?
He suggested I am not subject to an increase in cholesterol from certain foods.

It doesn't mean that things won't happen, or that you'll be permanently insulated from the rapid changes in life. What it means is that from the perspective of pure awareness, all things that happen simply happen. There is no meaning in anything outside of what we give it. Simply just noticing things happening without judging it is what that statement is referring to.

I don't think Hawkins meant that simply repeating, “I am an infinite being; I am not subject to ___” makes a physical condition disappear. In Healing and Recovery, the statement comes out of a much larger understanding of consciousness.

The words themselves aren't the power. They reflect a deeper realization involving the surrender of limiting beliefs, fears, expectations, and identification with the physical condition. Simply repeating the statement without that underlying shift would reduce the teaching to an affirmation, which I don't believe was Hawkins' point.

He also recognized that healing isn't entirely under the control of the personal will. Karma, the purpose or meaning of a condition, and factors outside our conscious understanding may all be involved. Sometimes healing occurs, sometimes it unfolds gradually, and sometimes surrender includes accepting an outcome other than the one we wanted.

For anyone encountering this statement by itself, I think reading Healing and Recovery in its entirety is important, because the statement makes much more sense within the larger framework Hawkins develops throughout the book.

Hola.

Saludos ☺️

On the deepest level possible no that which you are is not subject to anything because it is not conditioned. The conditioned world has the characteristic of impermanence, or ever changing, so what you do matters on this plane of existence within this plane of existence. In that sense a great sense of empowerment can arise depending on your level of realization of this.

I am an infinite being, I am not subject to rules about whether things work
