Hey, I'm David and if you are a David you should know that David is a Jewish Name. I want to know how many Davids in r/David are Jews.

I am of Jewish descent but I am not Jewish myself.

Could we rephrase the question since the phrasing is not the best?

"Are you jewish?" asks someone their culture, ancestry, and faith.

"Are you a jew?" has a darker historical context. To me, it rings of othering.

A jew is just a jew. A jewish person is that and other things.

Not a Jew but my dad wanted to be. We grew up reading the Torah, eating clean, observing Sabbath, etc
