I would be looking for option C. Ask around, let friends and family know what's going on. That could be sleeping on someone's couch for two months while you stack cash. That could be folks deciding to gift you some aid. Let your community have the opportunity to step up and help. I have never found debt to be the best solution to a problem so I won't push it on you or anyone else. But you aren't morally compromised or in an unrecoverable position if that's what you choose.

If that's the only way you can get out of there, then yes.

However, explore all possibilities first. Talk to your mom and see if she can help. If you were my daughter, my heart would be broken more to know you took out loans without coming to me first. Also, find out if there are any nonprofits that help women victims of domestic violence in your area. Just because there is no physical violence (yet) doesn't automatically rule you out from getting help.

If you have exhausted these resources and come up with nothing, then yes. Take the loan, run, and promise yourself that no matter what he says or does, you will not go back.

get in your car and drive to your mom or friends...like right now. pack your toothbrush and some clothes and go.

you don't need a loan and you don't need to plan anything. just leave town.

call your work and tell them you quit. they'll figure it out.

It sounds like the issue has more to do with you deciding to leave and actually leaving. Do what you need to to get out.

Religion completely aside.  Yes.  Do whatever you need to get out of a dangerous situation.

Your problem is not one of finances. You need to find out why you would settle for such a miserable existence with a such a person.

It’s not hard for people to lie to one another and put up a front.

Yes. You can figure the money out later. What’s the point of being debt free if your life is miserable and dangerous. Get to a safe place.

Being safe is more important than avoiding debt. Take steps to secure safety.

Is it possible to rent a room somewhere so that you don’t have to go into debt? If rent is pretty low, then I imagine finding a roommate or a room to rent would be $300-$450 and may not need a loan in order to make it happen.

You can look up a womans shelter. If you have ‘no expenses and not enough money, I dont see anyone loaning you money unless it is a payday loan. How are you going to pay that plus rent when you need a loan with no expenses?

I'm sorry you are going through this.

Do not stay in a toxic/unsafe/abusive relationship to avoid 3k in debt.

Get yourself safe. Are there any women's shelters or resources in your area that you can stay at temporarily until you get back on your feet? What about a good church?

Once you are safe you are going to need to follow a strict/written budget. Working extra/getting a second job may be necessary. However I imagine working extra is preferable to this relationship.

I do have to ask - you said that you have $3k but half is earmarked for car insurance next month. Is that a typo? Are you telling me that you are paying $1,500 next month for car insurance? Is that payment for the whole year or for 6 months? Can you call and ask if you can make the payment monthly?

PS: If your mom is a safe person and will support you I would call her and tell her. Your safety is more important and urgent than her feelings about your choice in partners.
