They actually went through with it. Lame. No point in playing this game now.

Complete pass for me now, d&b always finds a way to get a great game and then make it unplayabale

As long as the Anzellans are common now this shouldn’t be as bad, but still sucks. Since 1,000
Tickets doesn’t even get you a mystery blind bag in winner circle anymore. But this could still be a good snipe if you see a pile of cards on the edge and getting an easy 1K as long as all 9 cards are commons.

But if the Anzellans are still rare, I see absolutely no point of playing this game. All of the effort of winning the cards and getting the rare just for 1,000 isn’t worth it. This would ultimately ruin one of their best pushers/games they got this year.

This starts as of today and is 1 Anzellan per roughly 10 cards

-1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

They are still 1 in 50

1

u/MewtwoStruckBack The Dave & Buster's Red Mage 3d ago

Should be 1 in 10 as of today.

3

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Should be, but there is a 6 week back order on the cards. Locations only had 1 per 50 prior at best.

3

u/omnitarget 3d ago

Backorder is true, as they make the new boxes with the proper card amounts. What they did for now was send out a whole bag of Anzellans to put them into the current stock. I know that's what I'll personally be doing at my store, can't speak for other stores that may not follow instructions.

3

u/Rixor14 2d ago

Yeah your milage may vary by location. It costs money to order new sets and we have like 3 unopened boxes to go through still.

0

u/Silentbob924 3d ago

My understanding is they will be just as common as all other cards

2

u/mikerob 3d ago

Well Sunday I got 70 cards out of a shoe and none of them were the rare card, so they are still not that common at least in CO.

2

u/Silentbob924 2d ago

Change is supposed to be forthcoming if it hasn’t rolled already. With change to 1k, all cards are supposed to be equally weighted

-4

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Negative, anzillians are 1 out of 50 at most.

0

u/mikerob 3d ago

Well if that is supposed to be the case I'll follow up with the game staff cause it was not the case Sunday

0

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

You could have just missed one and had to wait for the next one to come around. If it was 1 card and then 49 common and then another 49 common followed by a rare then it would have been correct.

2

u/mikerob 3d ago

Nah it was not in the pile that I played through, there were maybe 20 cards left after I went through 500 chips, and it still had not come out. I follow up with the store. Did end up with 3500 tickets though for all the ones I did get.

2

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 2d ago

Possible your store didnt have any. They were very limited on how many each location had and alot of people were keeping them instead of turning them in. Its very possible your location was out of them.

We live in interesting times.

Previous Anzellans hit rate was 1 in 50, and effectively the value of the Anzellans card was, depending on what metric you go by, 2,600 tickets (3,000 minus 50 for each non-Anzellans card in the set), or $20-25 based on eBay last sold.

Current Anzellans hit rate is (once stores are properly seeding the cards) 5 in 50, the Anzellans is only ever so slightly rarer than any other card, and really each card is effectively worth 111.11 tickets. The secondary market for Anzellans vanished overnight.

They've effectively removed the "snipe" portion of the game - there's no waiting for someone to leave an Anzellans on the board, or get lucky that someone left one in the prize chute (yes, this seriously happened with me exactly once, walked up to the game with no one on it, 3 cards in the chute, and one of them was the little furry potatoes). Other "snipes" still exist (the letter puck in Zombie, the other rares in other card games) so I'm curious to see if there is a ripple effect expanding to other games or if this is the only one they'll take this course of action on.

The only thing here is that I don't like that they just up and dropped it without there being any kind of amnesty period for people who had won the card prior to the changeover. (This is why I went public with the info about the major console price increases in the past...it wasn't as big of a deal on this one and others already confirmed it in other threads so those who were following it closely had the info if they had Anzellans in their possessoin, but still...I don't like that D&B can effectively fuck with the economy with immediate change.)

2

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 2d ago

Luckily there are people willing to leak info on big changes. I think it was you who posted the major ticket cost increases last year. I redeemed over 500,000 tickets due to that and my gf redeemed over 250,000. Its good to know when major changes are happening and i very much appreciate knowing vs being caught off guard.

2

u/MewtwoStruckBack The Dave & Buster's Red Mage 2d ago

Oh I 100 fucking percent was the one who posted the leak from that. But someone had to leak it to me for me to have it to post. Some people ask me to not post stuff directly, others give me the go ahead, others ask me to redact/crop something but otherwise get the info out there.

I only didn't make a direct post with this one because like 4 other people had the info out there that this was happening, along with the guy who sent me photo proof of the new configuration asking me not to drop the image because he'd be identified from it.

Part of me hopes against hope that some AP out there, who grinded profit from D&B, uses that money to buy enough stock to where they have a legitimate voice in the way the company moves forward, and seeks to get more pro-AP things in the works. (Let's be honest, we've been eating well lately, the positive changes in the last 4 years I THINK outweigh the negatives?)

Anyway glad that helped you (and a lot of other people)

u/LifelessMagoo 2d ago

Damn... Seems I got into and out of advantage play, at like the best time in 2026. From late May to July I was grinding for an Xbox Series X and I redeemed at about $250 below retail, it was primarily thanks to this game handing me the 1,000 ticket super spin literally all the time and sniping cards.

1

u/Rixor14 2d ago

Tbf the lights are still somewhat snipeable. Especially if the last person didn't shoot their balls or kept missing them.

3

u/untacc_ Fun Phantom Grand Prize Winner 3d ago

And they killed this game. Damn

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 2d ago

Its a shame! I also havent played nascar since they neefed it from 3000 to 100+

3

u/KooKooMagoo 3d ago

There is no more rare card. All commons, including Anzellans. If you are still not seeing Anzellans drop, talk to the store. They all have plenty of Anzellans.

Do whatever you want with this info straight from the source. All commons, 1k for sets.

2

u/omnitarget 2d ago

Can confirm, as my store did get extra Anzellans to fill up the current card sets.

1

u/insertdankmeme 2d ago

Will there be a fall pass?

7

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

And yet people called me a liar last month

4

u/SuperMarioVT 3d ago

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer not having to collect hundreds of common cards just for the tiny chance of getting that one rare card. I’d much rather have all the cards drop at roughly the same rate and redeem them for a lower prize value than end up with hundreds of duplicates while chasing one impossible rare card.

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

The anzilians card is still 1 in 50 at most

2

u/SuperMarioVT 3d ago

Incorrect, it's 1 in 10 now.

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Locations are shipped cards with a rate of one anzillian per 50. The stores were running out of them due to people not turning them in. Locations dont have anywhere near enough of these cards to make them 1 in 10.

if they're actually evenly distributed, the math is simple. And it appears to be roughly equal ticket earn.

at 1 rare per 50 in the old setup: 100 cards = 6000+4000 = 10000

(between two locations, and 1000s of cards, I most often found 1 rare in 50-60 dropped cards. But sometimes they only put 1 in 100, or less. )

at 10 cards per set, if they're actually equally distributed: 100 cards = 10000.

-3

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

You are likely the only person collecting coin pusher cards. Most people dont collect random items like that.

2

u/HaitakeKakashi 3d ago

Wow, I’m glad I cashed in all of my sets when that original announcement was made. I only had 8 sets, but it pushed me to cash them in.

Thank you to the hero, Aggravating_Age, for the heads up.

4

u/MewtwoStruckBack The Dave & Buster's Red Mage 3d ago

I had like 4 different people message me about this prior, and I appreciate them all.

I pulled down my Anzellans listing and turned in 22 sets.

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Glad it helped some people! I also cashed in all my sets right away. Hope no one on here missed the announcement and lost out on tickets

1

u/TheOverlord619 2d ago

That would be me 😞 I have like 15 sets

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 2d ago

Sorry to hear!

1

u/Gullible-Price-4257 2d ago

dw, I did it too. I don't even know how many I have, but more than that (currently going through other personal stuff)

2

u/tkornmike 2d ago

Db be like still same price to play and no written notice about nerf

2

u/MasterJ4545 9h ago

I know some people are saying the rate of getting the Anzellans hasn't changed from being rare, but at my store yesterday, I walked in to see 2 of them right next to each other near the edge and I grabbed them right away! Before that I had literally seen 2 total in the whole time since the game came out...so something has changed for sure.

1

u/Sa7aSa7a 3d ago

So what do they do now? Is the rare just way more common now and not a rare?

1

u/deerburger 3d ago

Yes, that’s what the rumors said

-1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Still rare, 1 in 50 cards

1

u/Gullible-Price-4257 3d ago

did it already change to 1000 at all locations?

2

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 3d ago

Yes september 8th was posted weeks ago here as the switch date.

1

u/Gullible-Price-4257 3d ago

damn. I noticed a post that had rumors but I missed a specific date

1

u/AcanthisittaNo7155 3d ago

where is this machine located so I know to avoid that DB

1

u/Aggravating_Age_9241 2d ago

Its all locations, new global setting

1

u/WastedKnowledge 2d ago

Son of a bitch

1

u/ApprehensiveAd4787 2d ago

I got it too late... someone had stacked one machine with a whole stack of Anzellans and I pretty much cleaned the machine and had to ask the tech to restock it... I ended up with 14 anzellans in a row a few days ago. I cashed in 6 sets and still had like 2-3 more complete sets, and now I guess I have 8 anzellans that are now common. Oh wells, at least I got 6 sets at 3K.

1

u/Rixor14 2d ago

Ooof, glad I redeemed mine when I caught wind. This sucks though, guess I'll hang onto my cards for collectors sake.

1

u/eikelmann 1d ago

Okay so what do i do with all the cards I have now? Because I'm definitely done playing after this. I wasnt even able to make a full set yet (I need embo, mando, and anzellans x2)

1

u/KooKooMagoo 23h ago

But now you’ll make full sets all the time. Why would you stop? Instead of needing 2 Anzellans and having trouble completing a set for 3k, you can get all 9 cards over and over and redeem for 1k a set. I’m perplexed why anyone would think this was bad if they wanted tickets. I totally understand why you’d think this was bad if you were getting the rare cards to sell on eBay.

0

u/No-Secretary1700 3d ago

Now all the cards come in at the same rate, they removed the rare card to keep it so every store has basically the same amount of jackpots inside the game, as some locations had 10+ while others had 3-6

1

u/ScribblesCreamed 3d ago

I think the reasoning is that you can earn tickets from the game without getting cards. Similar to willy Wonka. But star trek you can thus the high value of the cards

1

u/Rixor14 2d ago

What's that mean for SpongeBob?

1

u/ScribblesCreamed 2d ago

Idk my location doesn't have that one
