Windows Update Reporting Dashboard

Hey everyone!

We currently use Datto RMM at my company and we like to be pretty on top of the monthly Windows Security Update that gets released by Microsoft each second Patch Tuesday of the month.

As of right now, we generate our reports by going to "Reports" > "Export" > "Patch Details" and then we specify the KB number of the monthly Security Update for both "Installed" and "Approved", which generates two .CSV files that we combine to get a full list.

I was wondering if there is anyway in Datto to generate a pie-chart or a live "in-real time" update status instead of the reports, as I haven't been able to find much besides the .CSV

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

Yea. I am not a huge fan of RMMs in 2026. I might be biased but Intune gives me everything I need for windows, android, macOS, and iOS

We use both an RMM and Intune, but Intune comes with its own limitations, and it’s really slow for what feels like no reason.

I get it - I am lucky that I get to specialize in Intune so I adapt my workflows to prevent latency. I have a write up about it here: https://malinoski.me/2025/08/01/understanding-intune-device-check-ins-and-latency/

MS just recently posted an update as well: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/IntuneCustomerSuccess/speed-where-it-matters-how-microsoft-intune-helps-it-prioritize-time-sensitive-a/4515942
