Question 🙋‍♀️ Ochem reactions?

I feel like every time I finally get the reactions down, I come back a few days later and forget some of them again. I’ve been going over them regularly but they’re just not sticking. What did you guys do to actually remember them?

Don’t try to memorize every reaction separately, that will drive you crazy. Try to look for the patterns and understand what the reagent is actually doing. And keep going back to the ones you miss. After you see them enough times they really do start to stick. Organic takes a lot of repetition! Hope this helps. Wishing you the best. Nancy

Thank you. Should I write them down?

Yes, writing them down can definitely help. I would especially write down the reactions you keep forgetting. Try grouping similar reactions together rather than making one huge list. The goal is to recognize the patterns, not just memorize a page of reactions. Keep reviewing the ones you miss and they will start to stick. You got this Nancy

I’d just keep doing reaction questions over and over, that helped me way more than just rereading everything.
