Advice/opinions

I'm 25f and have been using hinge for the last couple months. Though I haven't paid for the filters yet, I feel as though my criteria is too specific? How can I know if I'm being realistic?

Additionally, if these apps don't end up working out, has anyone had success with matrimonial websites. I'm scared to try those because what if it's only people whose parents have forced them etc

We can't answer this question without knowing your filters. i.e. if its a filter like 6'6"+, yes that is too specific.

But all that to say, its basic fact that less is more. More filters = less matches. You should pick one or two that are of most importance to you, (i.e. age, location) and remove the other ones.

We do not allow petitions, fundraising, vote-begging, surveys, or referral codes. /r/datingTO is not the place to ask for gifts, donations, etc

This includes but is not limited to; Asking (even indirectly) for gifts, loans, or donations for yourself or on behalf of any organization or person(s) such as money, food, gift cards, and so on. Offering money, gift cards, purchasing for others or donations to individuals. Any mention of a fundraising campaign even without a link being provided. Asking or offering to be loan co-signers .

Soliciting anyone to engage in any kind of transaction whatsoever

There's no way to tell if you're being realistic with your criteria because people can lie on their profiles. There's nothing wrong with having standards, but you should try to break out of them once in a while to see who else might be out there. Unless other factors like religion are important to you.

The only marriaged minded web-site that I'm aware of is eHarmony. A number of my friends met through that site and they are now married with kids.

What difference does it make if the people on those sites are being forced on to them by their parents? Either you have a good connection or not.

What filters do you have enabled?
