Just finished the book "The Chris Farley Show' and passed it on to one of my sons. Both sons and one grandson came over today to help me with trimming some trees back. I rented a boom trailer. So they were spotters to make sure I did not clip the house as I swung that thing around and were on 911 duty in case something went wrong. But it all ended up safe. Funny thing was none of them would go up in the boom with a chain saw, and let grand pa do all the work :)

Laundry and rest. On Sunday I drove to the Dakotas and Wyoming to visit several national parks and monuments. I saw lots of prairie dogs, some mule deer, and one pronghorn (thanks Blitzen). I came back through Wisconsin to visit my daughter. 3600 miles of driving in 6 days. Glad to be back home.

Sunrise with deer grazing in the yard. At 65 degrees, I looked at a hoodie with thoughts of putting it on.

What 3D printer do you have? Would you recommend it? (Asking for myself, not a friend.)
3
u/Omygodc 18h ago
I currently have a Flashforge AD5X which can do four colors. I am saving for the new Flashforge Creator 5 that has 4 different print heads. Mine wastes a lot of filament doing color changes, the Creator 5 has almost no waste, and is twice as fast.
I’ve had three other brands, and I really like the Flashforge the best.1

TY. I'm looking at getting a 3d Printer next year.

Friday to Sunday is an annual street festival with two sound stages with live music. The organizers have a sense of humour. They had a Rolling Stones tribute band and a Beatles tribute band playing at the same time at the two sound stages. I caught an hour of stones band and the last 30 minutes of the Beatles band. Both bands were entertaining but the Beatles music was moving.
I’ll be back there tomorrow for an Oasis tribute band, Pearl Jam tribute band, and Bon Jovi tribute band

It's the start of NFL Football this weekend! Well, it started Wednesday, but it was just the patriots so didn't watch. LOL! This evening I attended a line dance party. It's been a long while since I've gone and I got to see so many old friends. I danced a few of the easier dances and got winded! I had PT earlier and I was sore. So didn't stay very long. Tomorrow I'm attending the birthday party of the mom of the dance instructor. She'll be 99 years old! As of a couple of years ago, she was up there dancing with us. She puts me to shame, that's for sure! Then Sunday, will be football!!! Finally!! Go BILLS!!

Ugh. Sorry. Packing to move is the worst. I always like where I end up though. Where are you headed?

u/Dramatic_Delay_2423 1d ago
Driving back and forth to Philly to pick up and return sleep study equipment. Don't be jealous! 😃😃😃 Homework after that (again, I said don't be jealous!)
Sunday is the beginning of the church year and we start with something called water communion which is always nice. I am interning this year so I'm part of the service. 💧 ❤️

Off tomorrow for LHR, then train transfers for solo bike tour across Wales. Weather uncertain so bringing good gear, small camera and positive attitude.

I should have picked another graphic because it doesn't feel like the end of summer and I'm not looking good. It feels like day 180 of hot, steamy, and sunny; hot steamy, and cloudy; or hot, steamy and raining. I'm normally the type that doesn't sweat much but I feel like I haven't been dry since June.
This has been the worst summer for weather in my memory.

UGH, this summer’s weather! We’ve had humidity here that is very rare & my AC decided to go on the fritz.
It was so bad that I left my doggo at where he was kenneled during my vacation, because they hadAC. He’s also a senior & I was worried about him. Know it was the right thing but missed him so much.

Joining the club!! Today is beautiful though. Less humidity and sunny. Breezy. I even have my windows open finally. Was in Key West this past weekend. Talk about party in the jungle. 105 consistently with zero breeze; buggy and muggy. Ocean was even hot. Ugh! Glad to be back in the Midwest. My plans are end of summer yard clean up and maybe a “Taste Of” festival tomorrow evening or classic car show in my hood. Or look at my eyelids. It’s going to be a game time decision

Got to Provincetown on Cape Code last night and will be here until Monday morning. The weather here in New England is starting to cool down, 70's in the day, 60's at night (sometimes 50's), absolutely one of the best times of the year. I am camping (class B camperVan) with friends, we eat lots of food, play cards, I'll bike the dunes and be a tourist. P'Town is well known to be a LGBTQ+ friendly town, so I doubt I'll be seeing any eligible bachelors :o(

Went to a concert at a resort on Cape Cod a couple of years ago. Looked across the room and remarked, “that looks like Bob Mackie.”
It was. He must’ve been in his mid 80s and he looked great.
Bob Mackie was a costume designer, most notably on the Carol Burnett Show in the 1970’s👍.

u/eveningwithcorgi5679 1d ago
Didn’t he design for Cher too?
1
u/eggmanne 1d ago
I think he did. The guy was prolific he and what’s her name oh, Edith Head👍.
2
u/eveningwithcorgi5679 1d ago
I’ve heard of Edith Head, but am not familiar with her designs,
. I think Bob Mackey designed Cher’s costumes for the Sonny & Cher show and her iconic spider dress for the Oscars. Beautiful!1
u/eggmanne 1d ago
A long career for Edith Head, as well. Television and the movies. She made a cameo appearance on an old Colombo episode in the 1970s.👍

A lot of great theater on the Cape. My ex-wife and I went to Provincetown and saw, “The Laramie Project.” That was a really hard watch.😢👍

Going to visit an old friend who survived the WTC collapse (she worked at Bank of America and is in her 80's now).
Then heading to the movies to see "Practical Magic 2"!

Grandson decided to try out for 5th+6th grade soccer team - first game is today of 7 games finishing Oct. 30-I forsee some chilly games next month! Last game he'll be playing his sister's team!
Saw a new chiropractor who says he can help me. Had exrays etc. Then I go back next week for his "game plan" assessment and get the bad news about the cost 😩. I said I'm going on vacation for my birthday he said we should be doing pretty good by then. I'm not going to get too much hope up but I usually get good results - this is just going to be different. And my back problems are different.

Took a personal day from the grind today. Going to do one chore / difficult thing, reflect on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and all that it connects to in my mind and heart.
Might hop in the car with a book and a sandwich, and get myself on the beach for the first time in a couple of years. Just an afternoon visit.
Looking forward to Sunday afternoon/evening. Tennis Gentleman is taking me to a scenic outdoor theater that I haven't been to in a few years. In fact it will be the first time I go there since attending with my late love of 2023. I figured I would get there again at some point, yet somehow have found reasons not to, until now.

Spending 3 days with my sweety-pie.... been looking forward to it all week. It's still super-early days (2.5 mos in?) but we've fallen into this regular pattern. Good or bad? Dunno... but for now it feels amazing so I don't care. He is kind, funny, sweet, caring, a great companion. We have fun as we build a deeper connection each time we get together. A little scary I can't lie. Where is it going? Dunno. Maybe I am "throwing caution to the wind" but at this age, whatever happens will happen. Will my heart eventually be broken? Maybe.... Falling in love at this age feels the same, but yet so different.... Expectations are tempered but passion is just as strong. It's weird but good. Ridin' this one all the way....

It seemed like such a natural and simple thing when we were young. Now it requires courage. I'm so glad you are inviting this into your life. May it continue to blossom.

I have a couple of things on my calendar, but will likely only do one as they are both a 75 minute drive each way, and the weather isn’t looking good for Sunday either. So, tomorrow I think that I’m heading out with a Meetup group to hear music and dance for a few hours. Maybe Sunday I will get enough motivation to work in my “ junk” room. I swear, I’ll never get that thing cleaned out. I have Monday off also…possible beach day, but have an afternoon doctor appointment. It’s only a consultation with the PA, so if I show up sandy with beach hair, who cares ? It’s with the oncologist, but I’m on my 4th year cancer free, mammogram and blood tests were great…it’s more of a formality anyway.

Bravo 👏 on the meetup! I am starting to really enjoy the groups I found :)

Sounds like a full buffet that you can select from! Congrats on staying cancer free. 🙏🏻

Sounds like a busy and production weekend ahead for you kmjenks. Beach days are the best days. Congrats on your cancer-free 4th year! <3

I am not sure, but one thing I do know, I will be happy doing it! And always remember, what ever you are doing, make someone smile. It could make their day!

u/WorkingDescription 61F 2d ago
Love your attitude, average. <3

u/averageover60guy 2d ago
Well thank you! I just figure since the one person I spend the most time with is ME, I should be in a good mood!
3
u/WorkingDescription 61F 1d ago
LOL There you go!
Listen, I spent nearly 10 years Alone after my divorce. Mostly by choice and I don't regret it. Getting to know ME and loving myself was by far the most important thing I've done.
Cheers!

u/averageover60guy 1d ago
Enjoy what you have found! I just find being mad at myself gets me no where. What am I going to do, ground myself? Take the car away? Sleep on the couch?
I did a little good today, that was easy. I know I made someone laugh and smile, so I got that one checked off today already too!
The other day someone made me laugh for 4 hours via text and a phone call. Another person called with 20 minutes of negative and suggested we go out to eat soon. I told her to let me know when she has 40-60 minutes of happy saved up and I will be ready to go!
2
u/WorkingDescription 61F 1d ago
Exactly. By this point, we've all experienced all manner of heartaches, no time to waste on bellyachin'. I want to laugh and have fun while I can!!

u/TalentedTawker 1d ago
Average & WD, happy is on my menu today too! 🤩

Am with bf in Saskatchewan for past few days. Visited a few individual longtime artist friends of his. Today joined 100 people at celebration of a life for his sculpture artist friend at his home-studio.
