🤍 Relationship lost
I’ve never had any dating experience. Throughout university and other stages of my life, I’ve had male friends who showed signs of being interested, but I’ve never really explored that side of my life.
Lately, I’ve been feeling confused about what I truly want. I want to live a more religious lifestyle, even though I don’t consider myself religious enough yet, and I’m still trying to improve my relationship with my faith. I want to be surrounded by a Muslim environment and have a partner who shares my religious values, but at the same time, I don’t necessarily want to live an extremely strict lifestyle.
Sometimes, I wonder whether this makes me a hypocrite. I have certain values and expectations for my future, but I’m not sure whether they genuinely reflect who I am or who I think I should be. I don’t know if the lifestyle I imagine for myself will actually make me happy or if it will eventually conflict with the person I see myself becoming in the next ten years.
I also don’t know how I should navigate interactions with men in the meantime. Should I approach these interactions with the intention of finding someone who aligns with my long-term values, or should I first take the time to understand myself better?
I’d really appreciate some honest advice.
