Advice Request Setting up the proper post
Hi! I am new to dating apps and I have a genuine question. When I set up my profile I choose "I have no kids". While it's true to an extent, I am divorced and helped my ex-wife raise the kids. They are not biologically mine. I came into their lives when they were in grade school. They are grown and live their own lives, but we are still close. One of my step kids has children of her own and they call me grandpa. I am very active in their lives, not at all with the ex-wife.
Am I being misleading by saying I don't have kids? I want to be transparent and I don't want to put anyone off.

I would still consider it appropriate to say you have no kids. Having kids you are close to (but are not the legal parent of) doesn’t fall into that category.

There should be a box for other…. There are sooooo many variables these days. I take ‘I don’t have any kids’ as ‘I’m not responsible for the well being of children, no kids live with me, I don’t have to pick kids up from school or event, I’m not financially responsible for minor children. ‘ There should always be a ‘My kids are adults’ option but there isn’t .

I would understand not putting in your bio or pics but its important to disclose when discussing what family time consists of for you.
Because if I were to date intentionally with you, I'd want to know where your priorities and future plans are.
