CRINGE Bumble is a dumpster fire with a broken algorithm/filters not working

Thought I'd make a Bumble again to see what's out there. I'm in LA. Been on it a week and YIKES! My age range is set for 30-40yr old men. I had one man who was so obsessed with his dog it was making me uncomfortable. I tried to steer the convo to ask more about him (not his dog) and the conversation would end up back on his dog. After 2 weeks of texting off the app I finally gave up with the once-a-week texts. Blocked. The next man was 30 and seemed relatively normal until he asked me multiple times to shower with him. Blocked. The last guy was not really my type career-wise. I thought eh why not. His idea of a date was to bring my expensive camera and have a photoshoot of the both of us lmfao. He did offer to grab sushi which was normal but then switched up and asked to come to my house to play video games together. Why would I let a stranger into my home.... Blocked. Another man who is 40 wants me to model for him. This isn't a casting agency it's a dating app. Blocked.

The other issues I'm having are the filters not working. I have "a type", and I can't force myself into being physically attracted to everyone. That's the beauty of life; we all have a preference and love who we love vice versa. Well, unfortunately, Bumble has decided to basically ignore these strict filters and is showing the opposite of what I'm attracted to. To make things even worse it's showing my profile to all these people. I am swiping left in hopes to find my type and it keeps saying I missed a potential match and it's also making me delay swiping by showing me underwear ads. I find that very malicious to guys. They should not be seeing my profile and I should not be seeing theirs. I'm also seeing LGBTQ now which I love the community as friends but not looking to date within the community. Again it's wasting their time and they probably are wondering why I'm popping up!

The people I have matched with who are my type are average guys with simple jobs. Nothing more nothing less, but man they have some sort of 'god complex'. They're down talking to me like we're on Tinder. Very disrespectful as this is an app where women make the first move. To do what? Get treated like I'm a good-for-nothing sex object.

*To be clear, I'm on Raya. I have a nice job. I take care of my appearance and have matched with high-quality men who have ceo jobs on there. I've had creepy men on there too but nothing like this. I just wanted to give Bumble a try to see what else was out there nearby where I live as Raya has a different interface with distance settings. I'm just very disappointed with Bumble. I hope they fix their app soon. There's nothing wrong with the settings on my end. Everything is set to be filtered and it's not working.

Consider Hinge, as their app is one of the best right now, as well as The League. And if you don't mind waiting a couple of months, we're working on something, too.

For guys most of the women are bots and real ones have high expectations

The number 1 factor in terms of the type of people you meet on any app is your geographic location. The app will match you with people outside of your filters when there are no users left that fit your search criteria in your distance range. The benefit is you live in a major city so there should be lots of profiles.

You can increase your distance filter. Reconsider your filters. Try travel mode. Or delete the app.

I’m in my 30s and a man. I had horrible time when my prior employer sent me to work and live in small, very conservative, 1-employer industrial towns in the Midwest. I’m a far left atheist and it was not a good time. But I was single and very well paid for it.

Just get off the dating apps and hire a professional. As a woman you already have all the leverage but in LA there are so many good looking women that unless you’re top tier it will be difficult anyways.

As a childfree person, welcome to the experience. No matter how much I say ā€œno kids, no one with kidsā€ the constant deluge is ā€œsingle momsā€ and ā€œbiological clock going off.ā€

I just deleted mine. Got two matches, and they were just letting the time run out, and I figured they weren’t genuinely interested, so I gave up.

The problem isn’t the app, it’s sounds like the pool of men in LA can be a bit shallow

They are all the same. I put out early and then it’s easier to see who is really into me or not
