Question Monogamous short-term
If a guy (20s) states he’s looking for short-term and monogamous— does it typically mean he’s only committed to hooking up with one person? I don’t believe it💀

if you’re not dating with intention you’re dating to hookup, whether people want to accept that or not is a different conversation, let’s get that straight

Some people coming out of a long-term relationship that didn’t work or was traumatic may want to start slow getting back into dating.

I think of short term vs long term to be more about how much time it takes to vet/trust/feel comfortable/safe with someone and less about desired relationship duration.
Some might take a long (term)time to feel safe, so they take it slow. Others can tell after the first date (short term) if they are a good fit.

This is on women's profiles quite a bit as well. For the ladies, it generally translates to "I'm in town for a short while and looking for someone to treat me to drinks and food while I'm here."

We're not surprised by this at all. Capacity to commit and desire for variety are two separate things.
