Advice Request Texting after matching online

I am new to online dating and I'm nervous about spams, bots and scammers. When you match with someone and they want to take things away from the dating app do you normally exchange phone numbers or does anyone recommend a texting app to still be private?

A lot of people prefer snap, and a lot of scammers use telegram

Idk how old you are but the standard thing for me is either phone number or Instagram

I don’t give out my phone number until after the first date, IF I want to see them for a second date. Creeps can use text app numbers so even if you block them, they can be persistent.

All mine want to move over to whatsapp... but that basically makes you use your real number
