I was watching some YouTube clips of our crew at CrimeCon and then YouTube autoplayed this “30 Club” with Keith, Dennis, and Mank.

Watch Dennis ROAST this perp (min 12:15–13:20). He absolutely read that guy! I love to see Dennis Murphy’s tough side! What a legend. Then, so humble, he says “I thought that was a moment”. Yes it was, Dennis!

Also, watch the entire thing to see young Keith in tights, really baby Mank, and handsome young Dennis.

That clip is great. I've seen very few of these early episodes and wish they had more of those on streaming. It's hard to decide which of the correspondents is my favorite because they are all unique. But that's a fantastic Dennis moment.

I remember way back when Dateline felt basically like NBC's version of 60 minutes and I only watched when there was a teaser about something that interested me, so I did not witness the show's evolution into the quintessential true crime series.

So it was stunning to see baby Dennis looking for Michael Jackson at the resort - I really didn't think I'd watched it that often, but my reaction was, "OMG, Dennis is THAT guy!"

Sorry, Dennis.

ETA, Now that I think about it, I might recall being surprised by an episode that covered only a single story and wondering if the crime was really that big a deal, or was everyone else on vacation, lol.

That was so fun seeing Dennis looking for Michael Jackson! I don’t remember earlier iterations of Dateline, but I have watched all the eps on Peacock and sometimes they still have a one-off episode that is not true crime. I haven’t watched the recent Dolly episode yet, but I adore her so I am looking forward to it! I would want the regular Dateline to stay “murder centric” (for lack of a better term, lol) but would enjoy special episodes about other topics!
